HomeMy Public PortalAbout03-20-1922 234 Office of Board. of Public Works , -City of Richmond , Indiana, Monday March 20 th , 1922 . • • The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana , met in . regular session in the office of ea:idc-Board on Monday March 20th, • 1922, at 9 o' clock A. 11. All tare members of said Board , Messrs ,Land, • McFall and Henley', being present -the following proceedings were had, to-w it : - The Board directed a resolution be prepared and presented to the Common Council requesting the Judge' of Wayne Circuit Court to ap® point 3 disinterested citizens , to" appraise Fire Chiefs Car, Dodge Car. of Police Department , three grey horses at Glen Miller Park,A brick in old stack, at old Light Plant , with a- view to selling the same. -The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution No. 622-1922 for the installing of Ornamental Lighting ' System in South 7th St. • on the west side of street from Main. Street , to center of vacated • alley' between Lots 2 & 3, C .Bonds Add ; also east side of street • from Main to the center of vacated alley between lots 17 & 18 C .W. • Starrs.' 4th Addition. Mr. Geo . Schepman, appeared before the Board , requesting the city to pay for glass broken in his store room on South 7th Street ,by automobile throwing stone against said 'glass Thanksgiving night , • the Board instructed Mr. Schepman, to bring this matter to .the atten•ti on of City Attorney. - The City Engineer, recommended that the drinking 'fountain in South 10th St. Park, be removed to South 7th Street Park, andj a new foun • - tain be placed in South 10th Street Park: Also that the horse .foun- tain at Main & 9th Street be removed, and a sanitary drinking foun- tain be installed in its stead. , Mr. '1.-icPu.i_1 moved the recommendation • be adopted, seconded by -Mr. Henley, motion carried. . • The Beard authorized Andrew Fawcett, tenant at N.. 10th St. Park house • to repair roof; also to present his bill for pipe work done at' said • house, together with bill for repairing said roof. In matter of remonstrance filed on March 6th ,' 1922 , against the im- provement of South "D" Street, by construction of Sidewalk, curb gutter on both sides thereof, from South 11th to 14th Street , under ' Improvement Resolution No. 618-1922, the Engineer reported that there- are 6 resident owners residing on said. lino of improvement 5 of Whom have signed the remonstrance against said improvement , and that another petition signed. by 5 resident owners has been filed. re:- • • questing that the sidewalk be constructed, the Board on motion res- cinded their action as of date of March 6th , 1922, and on Motion,mo- dify' said resolution by striking out the words curb & gutter,.' and • now the hoard order said. resolution modified to read for Cement Side- walk on both 4` .e^ o South "D" Street , from South llth to 14th St and. find thatvpr erty` liable" to be assessed for said. improvement . - are equal' to the cost of same as reported by the City Civil 'Engineer confirming said resolution as modified. The Board direct additional arprop•riations for 12.E.L.ec P.P. for Ford Auto c 500. $7600,.
