The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session in the office of said Board, :Thursday February 23rd • 1922, at 9 o' clock ,A.M. All the members of said Board, Messrs ,Land , McFail and Henley, being present . The following proceedings were had, to-wit :- .\, Pursuant to continuance to this date , the Board 'met to hear remon- strances, if any, of persons primarily assessed, on account of the opening of Southwest 1st Street, from the National Road to South- . west "E" Street , as provided for under Declaratory Resolution No. 154-1921. Whereas, heretofore. to-wit , on the 20th day of February 1922, the Common Council of the City of Richmond , Indiana, has pas- sed an ordinance appropriating 21200.00 , and authorizing the Dept . of Public Works , to purchase for said sum, certain real estate east of said proposed street the same being all that part of Tract No. 199,' Official Map, City of Richmond lying eatt of said street and running from South line of National Road to the south line of said Tract 199, containing in all 2.9/10 acres,more or less. The Board being fully advised in the premises, Mr. McFail moved seconded by Mr. Henley, that said assessment roll be modified, and the Clerk reduce the assessments of exceebl,benefits heretofore made on the original assessment roll, to all property benefitted in the amount of 1200.00. and fix Monday March 6th , 1922, as the date of hear- ing on said proposed opening and award of damages & benefits, . The Board received communication from Richmond City Water Works, requesting information as to where to place water tap for city • property at corner of South 5th & "A" ,Streets , referred to City Civil Engineer. The City Engineer, was instructed to place No Parking signs on the narrow part of Ft-Wayne Ave . The Board received communications with proposals for 2i- gal Bab- cock extinguishers, for use of Fire Department ,as follows:- American LaFrance Fire Engine Co. Inc . bid: Red Japan, list 6 $35 .00, discount 25%--- net price $26 .25 each. The Seagrave Company, bid: Babcock extinguishers,$45.00 five or. more---$40.00 each The proposal of the Am-LaFrance Fire Engine Co. Inc. being the lowest and best, The Fire Chief, was directed to order Ten (10) of said extinguishers at price quoted. The Board unanimously adopted Improve- ment Resolution No. 619-1922, for General Relief Sewer , from the present terminous of the present Trunk Sewer on S.W."E" St.near S.W . i 5th St;thence in a scuthwestwardly direction paral&el with the 'pres- s ent sanitary sewer ,to sewage disposal plant .S.•W.Sewer System. The Clerk was directed to advertise for bids on garbage, ' as provided for under the plans of Ehgineer.
