The Board of 1:ublis Workis of the City of ic11nord , Indiana , met in regular s essi on in the office of said Beard on Mbar:day Febru- ary 9th_ , 192'2, at 9 o' clock A. H. All the members of said Board , Messrs , .Land , McFai1 and Henley, hei rig present , the following proceedi ngs were had , to --wit . The Clerk reported the peti ti en of Councilman Frank Broj n, praying for lights in Benton Heights , the Board deferred action until the lines of city were gone over and ne ce , sary v,r rk done on same . • Pursuant to pontinuance to th is date , the Board met to hear reman- s t rance s if any ap'a i n��t the improvement Te rent o f the l rrunning east . a.-1 e� was and west between North °'i; ' Street & the B.C .0 .&, St.Lh-tai.lroad by construe ting a cement roadway in said alley from North 2 and to 23d Street , as provided for under Improvement Resolution No. 614-1921 , No one appearing: or remonstrating against said improve:-cat , the Board decides that the benefits to property liable to be assessed for said improvement are equal to the cost of same as estimated by the City Civil Engineer, and on moti on confi rill said resolution without modi ficati on. The Board met to hear remonstrances , if any of persons primari ly assessed on account of condemnation of ground fa !'aria_ purposes the same bei ng Lot No. 6, laid out by the Richmond Trading and Manufacturing company, and kno7.n as Lot No. 6 , of the Blanchard, et-al Licidi Lion to the City of Richmond , Indi a.na, under Declaratory Resolution No.157 -1921 . No one appearing or remonstrating the Board . approved a final assessment roll of benefits and damages, cor_f1r1- ing in all things the orig1ns! •cosessnent roll heretofore approved and thereupon declare said Lot eNo. 6 , above designated, condemned arid '.appropriated to the ci ty ' s use , and now direct that a copy of said\ assessment roll be forthwith transmitted to the Departr_ent of Finance . • The Board approved the bond & contract of Z. B. Pyle Co. contract- ors in the matter of improvement N©solut ion No. 617 -1921. Horace Ralston, arpeare(' before the Board for permi ssion to place ashes in the alley from Westcott Hotel , said alley being east of Hotel Building., permission was granted with the understanding the said ashes would be immedi ate ly hauled away . Police Commissir,nor Burns , together wi th Sup' t. Eve rsman appeared before the Board , recuesting that the Board purchase 30 revolvers for police department, new Dodge car , and a Ford car for use of said department, same was referred to City Attorney. The Clerk was directed to advertise for bids for New Fire Chief Roadster, al so 61'0 or 75C' gal ,pumper triple combination for the " fire department; also a Motor driven Street Cleaner, bids to b received Th-dirsda;T March 2nd , 1922 at 10 o ' clock A. The Board unanimously adopted Improvement "Me olution No. 618-1922 for the improvement of South "D" Street ; by constructing cement curb & gutter & sidewalk on both si des Of street , from South 11th to South 14th Street ; except where cement ' curb ,gutter & walk are now laid and in good conditi on. The City Engineer was directed to have Street Department , make temporary repairs to swinging bri dge known as happy hollow bridge. Mr. hichard edgwick , appeared before the Board , requesting that pri vi lege be granted to close 10 ft . of alley on north side of - same , abutting East Main Street- Friends Meeting House , for the erection of a tabernacle for the coming meetings to be conducted by the :ev . Vim. Sunday , the Board re qu este d Mr. Sedgw ick, to `get permission from the residents abutting said alley and who use the same , and they To take up the n tter with the Fire Chief at . a .
