RESOLUTION REQUESTING STATE OF ILLINOIS SUPPORT FOR WIKADUKE TRAIL
Whereas; the State of Illinois has provided substantial support for planning for the WiKaDuKe
Trail (Will, Kane, DuPage, Kendall, and Grundy Counties), a proposed Strategic Regional
Arterial (SRA); and
Whereas; the WiKaDuKe SRA study has recommended acquisition of right of way and the
eventual development ofa 4 to b lane highway connecting I-88, I-80, and Route 6; and
Whereas; the Counties of DuPage, Kane, Kendall, Will, and Grundy Counties, and the
municipalities ofNaperville, Aurora, Oswego, Plainfield, Joliet, Shorewood, Minooka, and
Channahon have participated with the State of Illinois in developing the SRA Plan; and
Whereas; the cost of the improvement of this major road greatly exceed the financial resources of
the communities; and
Whereas; the local governments request State funding and assistance in the development ofa
study that provides a financing plan and impact fee plan for funding the road;
Now, therefore, be it resolved, that the undersigned community hereby goes on record requesting
funding assistance from the State of Illinois to develop a financing plan and impact fee plan to
financed construction of the W iKaDuKe Trail.
