The Board' of Public Works of the City of• Richmond, Indiana , met
in regular session in the office of said Board , Thursday January
26th , 1922, at 9.o' clock A.M. All the members of said. Board ,Messrs ,
Land , McFall & Henley, being present , -the following proceedings
were had , to-wit _ -
Pursuant to continuance to this date , the Board met to hear remon-
strances , if any, in natter of opening S.W.lst St. from National
• Road .to S.W. "E" Street , as provided under Declaratory Resolution
No. 154-1921 , The Board not being fully advised in the premises,
on motion continue said hearing until Monday January a) , 19220
The Board approved the contract & bond of John P. Hipskind , con-
tractor under Improvement Resolution No.. 616-1921 . •
The Board unanimously adopted' Declaratory Resolution No. 158-1'922,
to vacate a portion of the, first. alley south of North "D" Street ,
running from North 3rd Street east to the alley between N®3rd `& .
4th Street.
The Board received bids on approximately 2400 tons of coal for city
.light plant, for testing purposes, also 50 tons more or less Poca-
hontas R. of M. coal to be delivered in basement of City Building,
_ as follows, to.-wit : -

Tiger Coal & Supply Co. , " Smokeless. 5.69 " -

Farmers National Grain " " 5.50 "
" T' " Smokeless MR. .. - 6.48 "
The Board on motion of Mr. Henley, award the contract for delivery
of said coal to ci ty building to Mather Bros . Co. considering the
same the best bid .
The Light Plant Coal , bids received were on motion held in abeyance
until_ further inve sti ga ti on.
The Board dir ected. the Clerk to wrri to to J.C .Lyon,consult ing engin •

eer, in reference to bill for extras ,$45.00, Thos Turner & Son,
Also to the National Valve & •Mfg. Co. in reference to employment .of
Mr. Kennedy to supervise piping at said •plant , as to whom should
pay for same . •
The Board received communication in regard to Buffalo
for Glen Miller Park, the Sup' t , was dir ected- to investigate wi . /..
the Building Inspector , as to probable cost of constructing fence
to inclose grounds , and erecting of building large enough for two
- Buffalo, and report to Board Monday Jan. 30 , 1922. . •
. Bills to the amount of 6475 .13 , were allowed & ordered paid.
