Monday January 23,1922.
The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond , Indiana , met
in regular session in the office of said Board on i onday January
23rd , 1922, at 9 o' clock A.M. All the members' of said Board,Messrs ,
Land , M1cFai1 & Henley, be being present . The following proceedings
were had, to-wit : - -
The Board on motion rescind the action heretofore taken in matter
of renting Lot 25 , for garden purposes to Wm.H.Settle , for season
of 1922, the reason for same being that the said Wm.Settle, is en-
deavoring to sub-let the lot at a profit , and the Board -on motion
• give an option on same to M.G . Harsh.
Upon the recommendation of Fire Chief,E.E.Miller, the Board accept
the resignati on of-Ed. Strothaus , firemen at . No.3 Hose House .
The City Engineer, was directed to see as to the cost of repairs
• to the steam road roller, especi ally a leak in boiler, and report
at future meeting .
The Clerk was directed to notify the different coal dealers in the
city, that the City was in the market for from 1800 to 2400 tons
of coal. for ci ty light plant , the same to be H.R. or 2" N.& S. W.Va..
or Ky, coal for testing purposes, and dealers to give an analyses
• of said coal with their bid , also for 50 tons more or less of Poca-
hontas Coal or its equal to be delivered to city building bins, at
City Hall, sn_ie for immedi ate . delivery, bi ds to be in by Thursday
Jan 26, 1922 , 9 . 30 o' clock A.M. (Dealers to bid. on App. 200 tons )
On moti on of Mr. Henley, Building Inspector J.E.Higgs, was directed
to purchase material and have the labor performed in matter of
changing a part of Firemen ' s sleeping quarters into Office for the

The Clerk was directed to notify .L.C .I elders, of the M.E.L.& P.P.
that the purchase of No.10, 7 conductor , control cable , lead covered
approximately 100.00; No. 10 , 5 conductor , control cable ,lead covered'
approximately N200.00 ; No' s 2 & 3 control cable , lead covered,approxi
mately c'50 .00; Total amount of N350 .00,to complete permanent instal-
ffi lati on of No. 5 Turbine, from Stanley Plbg. & Elec. Co , was in all
things ratified & confirmed.
Letter from L.C .Welden , in matter of auto-truck was read and ordered
placed on file for future reference.
The Board received letter from F.E.Bescher , of the M.E.L.& P.P. in
regard to missing 'documents of Light Plant , pertaining to contracts
rate data, etc . , the same was refered to the City Attorney.
The Clerk was directed to notify the Custodian of City Building, the
that in the future ,he would be under the supervi. si-on of Fire Chief.
Bills in the amount of S?12, 877 .68 were approved.
