The Board of: Public Works of the City Of Richmond , Ineii-ana , met in regular session in the office of the Board on Thursday January 19th , 1922, at 9 o'clock, A. M. All the members of said Board Messrs , Land , McFall & Henley, being present , the following pro • - ceedings were had, to-wit : - Mr. Elmer Eggemeyer, appeared before the Board , praying for relief in the matter of a broken tile sewer on the property of H. . D. Zut- termeister, which causes the. sewage to seep through the walls of their building into the basement at 401 Main. Street, thereby be- coming a nuisance & a menace to health. The Board immediately re- ferred the ratter to Sanitary Inspector Wm. : Keen, who with Mr.Eg- gemeyer, went to the premises to investigate . The Clerk referred a list of the various complai me registered' by the Common Council, which were referred to the proper departments for action & report, The Board directed the Fire Chief to install a Fire-Alarm box at South 18th & "C" Streets: The Board met to hear metionstrances , if any,of persons primarily assessed on account of the improvement of west side of Northwest 7th atreet ,by constructing a cement curb & gutter and a 92ft.wid e. sidewalk, from Peacock Road south to a point 330 feet, as provided by Improvement. Resolution No. 607-1921 . No one appearing or remon- strating against said assessment , the Board approved a Final As- sessment Roll, confirming in all things the originacl assessment roll as heretofore/ adopted, and directed the same be transmitted - forthwith to the Department of Finance . : The Board met to receive bids for the construction of ,a sewer in the territory between the Peacock Road & Richmond Ave . from North- west 5th Street to the alley west of Northwest 8th Street, as pro- vided for by Improvement Resolution No. .616-19?.1 , as follows,viz lc John F. Hipskind , Bid Sewer Complete according to specifications - - - - $16,702 .40 W. M. Birch, Co. bid : Sewer Complete , according to specifications- - - - $16 ,819 .64 L. P. Beard Construction Co. ,bid : • Sewer Complete ,accordi ng to specifi cations - - - - $17 , 518.32 John S. Duke , bid : - Sewer Complete , according to specifications- - - - $17 ,850 .00 Grant •Boulton Co. , bid : Sewer complete , according to specifications-' - - - 41l8 , 608. 20 The bid of John F. Hipskind , being the lowest & best bid re- ceived, and being betow the Engineer estimate, the contract was on motion of Mr. Henley, awarded to said John F. Hipskind . The Clerk was directed to write a letter to L.C .Welden, at M.E.L. " / P.P. to notify the Price Coal Company, to stop ,delivery of coal to the plant , unti 1 further. orders.
