City of Richmond, Indiana,
Monday January 9 ,1922.
The Board of Public Works of the City. of Richmond, Indiana, met
in regular session- in the office of said Board, Monday January
9th, 1922, at 9 o' clock A.M.A11 the members of said Board being
present , ,Messrs, Land, McFail and Henley. The following proceed-
ings were had, to-wit :
Minutes of the preceeding meeting were read & approved.
The Board approved Right-Of-Way granted by Edwin C. Wright of
Greenville, Darke County, Ohio, granting permission to construct
and Maintain a sewer over & across the rear portion of property
owned by him, being lot' s 1 to 14, inclusive laid out by Edwin
C. Wright , and known as the Wrightland Addition to the City of
Richmond , Indiana.
The Clerk was directed to write letter to the different Electrical
Supply dealers in this City, requesting them to make a bid for the
furnishing of light bulbs for needs of the City and City Light
Plant for one year, requesting them to state in their bid, the last
contract they had with the city and the duration of same, bids to
be presented Monday January 16th, 1922, by 9.30o' clock A.M. all
contracts to be made in triplicate.
The Board on motion decided to have an order of business, as fol-
lows, viz : - Unfinished Business, Reports from Dept . Heads, New
Business.
The Board accepted the resignation of Ira Slick, Fireman No. 2
Hose Company.
The Clerk was directed advertise for bids, under Improvement Reso-
lutionS No' s, 610, 611, 612-1921 . The Clerk was directed to re-
quest the Council Committee on Sewers, Streets & Alleys, to meet
with them Thursday 7 30 P.M. Jan.12,1922, in the office of Board,
to go over the neccessity of asking additional appropriations for
City' s part of improvements, and directed- the Clerk to prepare an
ordinance , appropriating additional sum of $11,717.00 to City' s
part of improvements.
In the matter of employment of Win. Kennedy, of the Westinghouse Co.
supervising the piping in erection of new Turbine, on motion was
referred to City Attorney, as to the liability of payment of said
Kenedy for services rendered.
The matter of marking traffic lines on streets, was onnotion left
in the hands of the City Civil Engineer.
The Engineer was granted permission to employ draftsman at $90.00
per month. '
The Board rent to Wm. Settles Lot 25, for garden purposes, season
1922 for the sum of $2.50.

Konday January 9, 1922,
City Attorney, was instructed to investigate and report to the
Board , as to whether the contractor in constructing sewers,
streets, alleys ,etc , is liable for damages done to property in
construction of improvements .

The Board instructed the City Attorney, /as to- whether a Public •
Comfort Station could be placed under the alley, on south side
of Main Street, between South 9th & 10th Street.
Coal & Freight Bills on said coal, in the amount of $18,305.95
was allowed & ordered paid.
The Board then adjourned,
