HomeMy Public PortalAbout12-08-1921 Monday, December 5th , 1921. 181 The Board instructed the Supt . of the Light Plant to get up data and submit it to the Board iLmediately, looking toward a reduction of light & power rates. _ The Board approved a plat rerrsenting 51 Town lots to be known as the Wrightland Additi on to the City of Richmond, Indiana, and known as a cart of Tracts 586 & 588 , and all of Tracts 587 & 592 Official Map of the City of Richmond, Indiana , and streets and alleys not heretofore dedicated are now didicated tothe City for public use. A Contract between the Richmond Bore" Telephone Co. and the City modifying ,a contract made by such parties on the 13th day of Feb. 1908 , was presented, and on motion of Mr. Peitz seconded by Mr. Price the Board unanimously approved such contract and instructed the City Attorney to rrepare an ordinance for Council covering such _ matter. Such Contract was thereupon enTecuted by the Telephone Co. _ and Members of the Board of Works in duplicate , and one copy nfe same filed i ] the office of the City Clerk. Bills to the amount of 4 2,042.58 were allowed. The Board approved the various pay rolls tp tO December 1st , 1921. U from Main to �:i]u�I] °'A - St. by paving the roadway of said street with one of the modern hind of city pavements to-wit : Brick; Asphalt ; Creosoted Wood-Block; or Concrete , as _^rovided for by Improvement Resolution 610--1921. No written remonstrance having been filed and after hearir€• all persons interested wl- o appeared, for and against said improvement , the Board after careful consideration, and beingproperly informed in regard to this improvement decided that the b nefi_ts to property liable to- - be assessed for said improvement are equal to the estimated cost of same as reported by the City Civil Ennineer less the sum the City 182 Thursday , December 8th , 1921. will pay toward said improvement . The City agrees to pay the cost of the intersections, and such other sum in addition thereto as will equal One Thousand Eighty ( 1,050.00) Dollars. - The 3card thereupon took final ae.tion upon said resolution as originally +adopted , the same being confirmed without modifica- tion. The Board met to hear all ,7,ersons interested in .or whose prc- perty is affected by the improvement of North-and South3rd St . 1/ . from South "A" St. to Main St . on South 3rd St . , and from Main St . to North "D" St . on North 3rd St . ; by paving the roadway with one of the kinds of Modern city pavements , to-wit : Brick ; Concrete ; Creosoted Wood-Block; or Granit- Block: Also Cement Curb , Gutter & Walk on the east side of i'iorth_ 3rd St . from North "D" St . tc the first alley running east & west , as pro- • vided for by Improvement Resolution #611-1921. No written re- monstrance having been filed, and after hearing all persons in- terested who -appeared for and against said improvement the Board • after careful consideration, and being prororly• informed in re- gard to this improvement decided that the benefits to property liable to be assessed for said improvement are equal to the estimated cost of same as reported by the City Civil Engineer less the sum the City rill pay toward sai d improvement . The City agrees to pay the cost of the intersections, inlets , and such other sum in addition thereto as will equal Ten Thousand Three Hundred (010,300.00 ) Dollars. The Board thereupon took final action upon said resolution as originally adopted, th e same being confirmed without modification. • The Board met to hear all persons interested in or whose pro- perty is affected by the improvement of South 5th Street ; by paving the roadway of said street with one of the modern hinds of city pavements to-wit : Brick ; Concrete ; Asphalt ; Creosoted Wood-Block, from South "A" St. to South "E" St. : Also construct i rig a sewer_ in South "B" St. from South 5th St ._ to alley west, running north & south and in South "C" St . from South 5th St . to 4 • South 6th St. for storm water, as provided for by Improvement Resolution #612-1921. No written remonstruace having been filed ' .. and after hearing all persons interested who. appeared for and against said improvement , the Board after careful Consideration, and being properly informed in regard to this improvement de- cided that the benefits to. property liable to be assessed for said improvement are equal to the esti mated cost of same as re- ported by the -City Civil Engineer less the sum the City will pay toward said improvement. The City ' a grees to pay the cost of street 8s alley intersections; severs ; inlets, and such other sum in addition thereto as will equal Ten Thousand Nine Hundred. (010,900.00) Dollars. The Board thereupon took final action upon said resoluti on as originally adopted, the same being con- 1/. - firmed wi thout modification. The Board instructed. the City Engineer, D. B . Davis , and P;Ir. Dillon, Supt. of the Li.ht Plant to install a "Silent Policeman" at Ft . Wayne Ave. , North 0th "E" Street; intersection. The Board received a report from the Travelers Indemnity Insur-- • ante Co. on the condition of the Boiler for the heating plant Thursday, December 8 , 1921. 183 in the City Building which was ordered placed on filed - The Board instructed Mr. Dillon,: Supt. of the Light Plant , to . notify J. D. Lyon, Consulting Engineer, not to come to Richmond in the interest of the Municipal Electric. Lighting & Power Plant unless sent for.
