A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING AN UPDATE VILLAGE CLERK
TO THE VILLAGE OF PLAINFIELD'S TRANSPORTATION PLAN
WHEREAS, the Village of Plainfield is in one of the fastest growing areas in the region and
transportation issues are one of the most pressing concerns facing the Village; and
WHEREAS, the 1995 Transportation Plan was incorporated into the 1995 Comprehensive Plan
which identifies that the plan be regularly evaluated and comprehensively revised every 5 years;
and
WHEREAS, other plans and studies have been completed since 1995 such as the WIKADUKE
SRA Study in 1999, 143rd Street Extension Feasibility in 1999, Thoroughfare Plan Origin &
Destination Study in 2000, and the Will County 2020 Transportation Framework Plan; and
WHEREAS, the Transportation Plan needs to be consistent with current policies of the Village,
the Village's planning area and additional information which has become available since 1995;
and
WHEREAS, the Village entered into an agreement with Teska Associates, Inc. to revise the
Village's Comprehensive Plan which includes a transportation component and support of this
plan will serve to give guidance in the development of the Comprehensive Plan; and
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF PLAINFIELD AS FOLLOWS:
We support the attached Transportation Plan Map attached hereto.
This Resolution shall be in full force and effect upon its passage and approval according to law.
