No one remonstrating the Board approved the Final Assessment Roll of Benefits & Damages confirming in all things the original assessment roll heretofore approved, and thereupon declare said alley as de- signated above vacated, and now direct that a copy of said as- sessment roll be forthwith transmitted to the Dept. of finance. The Home Telephone Company representatives appeared before the Board asking for an increase in_rates which was taken under advisement for the purpose of consulting with the City Atty. and. to investigate. The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana , met in regular session in the office of. said Board Monday, November 21, 1921, at 9 A.M. All the members of the said Bca rd being present Messrs. von Pein, Price, and Deltz the following proceed ings were had to wit :- The Board received a petition signed by Ira M. Tucker and six others for the passage of a resolution providing for the improve ment of the alley between North "F" St. and the Railroad .from North 22nd to North 23rd St. which was referredto the City ng. for papers. ' The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution #613-1921 to improve Peacock Road from the west line of North-west 5th St. to the west line of North-west 8th St. by grading; the construc- tion of cement curb with 12inch gutter; six ft. cement sidewalk, and construction of a concrete pavement 8' ft wide on both- sides thereof. The-, Board allowed and ordered paid the claim of the Lavelle • Foundry Co. of Anderson, Ind. , of $70.00 for two ( 2) "Silent Policemen" . - Dr. Bulla appeared before the Board in regard to the condition existing on South-west "E" St. between 4th & -5th Sts. where the trunk sewer at its overflow manhole is creating a nuisance. • Monday, November 21, 1921. 1 77 The Board instructed the City Engineer to draw up plans for the building of a sewer in Randolph St. and connections west. At the advise of the City Attorney, W. W. Reller, the Board in- structed him to prepare an ordinance appropriating the su of Three Hundred ($300.00) Dollars to meet the expenses for he em- ployment of Mr. Perk,a Public Accountant, to go over the oks of the Home Telephone Co. , and present same at Council Monday, Novem- ber 21st, 1921. The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana , met in regular session in the office of said Board Monday, Nove ber 28 , 1921, at 9 A.M. All the members of the said Board being present Messrs. von Pein, Price, and Peltz the following proceedings were had to-wit : - The Board approved the petition of Wm. A._Mercurio for permission to cut the curb under private contract, and at his own expense, for a 10' ft driveway infront of #814 South "H" St. subject to the ap- proval of the City Engineer. The Board approved the petitions of Omar Murray for permission to cut the curb under private contract, and at his own expense, on E. Main St. bet. 16th & 17th Sts. infront of real estate #6 Ptice & Ferguson Add. ; also on west side of N. 17th St. infront of real estate #6 Price & Ferguson Add. ,for driveways,, subject to the ap- proval of the City Engineer. _ ./ .The Clerk presented the complaints from Council of Monday, Novem- ber 21st., 1921., and Mr. Peitz moved that the surplus ground taken over by the City for the widening of North 3rd St . from N. "D" St. south be dedicated for Park purposes, and the Engineer be instruct- ed to draw up plans for beautifying same; the park to be under the supervision of the Park Supt. Seconded by Mr. Price motion prevail ed. The Board receive* communication from the Industrial Board of Irid. signed by 3. J. Boleman, calling attention to Section 14 of the Compensation Act , which was ordered placed on file and the City Engineer was instructed to embody the necessary requirements to
