The Board of Public Works of the City of Ribhmcnd, Irdiena , met in regular session in the office of said Board Monday, October 17 , 1921, at 9 A.21. All the members of the said Board boi ng pre- _ sent Messrs. von Peiri, Price , and -Foltz the following proceedings ' were had to-wit : - . - _ James P. Pace, Commander of the Genn-Lichtenfels Post No. 748 , ap- peared before the Board asking for permission to place a stand 12 x 14' ft on North 9th St . on the east side 5` ft north cf the water fountain Armistice Lay, i ovember llth, 1921, the Board granted the request . The Board received a petition sinned by Henry Lahmann and nine (9 ) others for the passage of a resolution providing for the grading & graveling of Garden Ave. from South "E" St. to West Terminal, which was referred to the City Engineer. The Board met to hear all persons interested in or whose property is affected by the grading & graveling of lieeveston hoad from S. 18th St . to S . 23rd St . under Improvement Resolution #606--1921,and after hearing all persons who appeared, and J. W. Sindell, & A. C. Lacey making a verbal remonstrance against said improvement the _I/ Board postponed Final Acti on until Thursday, October 20th, 1921. Garland McLear appeared before the Board asking for permi ssion to install a gasoline , air, &oil dispenser infront of 41530. Main 6t . He was instructed to file a contract & bond for approval. The Board took up the coal bids submitted Monday, September 26th , 1921 , for coal for the M.E.L. E. P.2. , an(' after reading a communi- cation from J. P . Dillon, Supt. of the Light Plant , now on file , stating that there is an emergency for buying coal at once for the Municipal Electric Lighting & Power Plant , the Board decided to 1.66 ^MONDAY, October 17th , 1921. waive the testing of the coal of above mentioned bids , and to award the Contract to the Price Coal Co . The Price Coal Co . agreeing to keep said Lirht Plant stocked with 60 to 90 days coal, and to bill the Li e.ht Plant for th'e coal as same as used. The Board then adjourned. W. Lamb for permission to cut the curb under private contract for a 10` ft driveway infront of Tract 214 Official Map or South-west "A" St. subject 'to the approval of the City! Eng-ineer. The Board a:rr roved the petition of T. A. Greenstreet for permis- sion to cut the curb under private contract for a 10` ft driveway infront of #523 North 21st Street subject to the approval of the City Erigine er. The Clerk presented the complaints from Council of Monday, Oct . 17th , 1921. The- communication from Lee B , Nusbaum 'Co. in regard to the traffic congestion in the 1st alley south of Main St. between 7th & 8th St. was referred to the Police Commissioners with the recommendation to stop the practice of parking vehicles on both sides of the alleys 1st north & south of Hain S.1 . from 5th St . to 12th St : I/ The Board instructed the Clerk to write to the Electrical and Specialty Supply Co. , �',!9 South Clinton Lit . , Chic.tg•o , Ill.' advis- ing them that the Board of Public Works has accepted the Two ( 2) Milwaukee Mushroom Traffic Lights sent on approval June 29th , 1921, and he-3 approved the bill therefore dated June 29th, 1921 , 'for Two Hundred ( 400.00) Dollars , which will. be paid by the City of Richmond on or before January 15th, 1922, as per arrangement made this day with Mr. Mitchell, Salesman for said company.
