The Board of Public Works .of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session in the office of said Board Monday, October 10th , 1921 , at 9 A.M. All the members of the raid Board being present Messrs. von Pein, Price , and Peltz the following -proceed- ings were had tewi t : - The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution #608-1921 to improve South 21st -Street from South "B" St . to Reeveston Road, by grading and graveling said street. • The Board met to hear remonstrances: if any of persons Primarily Assessed on acccrnt, of the vacation of eight feet` off the east side of South 16th Street, from south "E" Street. to the South Terminal of said street which point is the south line of Tract No. 557 Official Map, under Declaratory Resolution #152 - 1921. No one remonstrating the Board approved the Fihal Asse: sment Roll of Benefits &. Damages confirming in all thinre- the original ass- essment roll heretofore approved , and thereupon declare said por- tion of said street as designated above vacated, and now direct that a copy of said assessment roll be forthwith transmitted to the Dept . of Finance. The Board met to hear remonstrances if an7 of persons Primarily Assessed on account of the improvement of the south side cf S. "F" St . ; by constructing -a cement sidewalk ( 5' ftin width ) from South 8th to South 9th Street under Improvement Resolution #605- _ 1921, no one appearing or remonstrating the Board approved the Final: Assessment Rcll confirming in all things the original ass- essment roll as heretofore approved, and directed the same to. be transmitted forthwith to the Dept. of Finance. The Board met to hear remonstrances if an.y of persons Primarily Assessed on account of the improvement of the alley between S. 11th & 12th Streets; by constructing a cement roadway the full width of alley , from South "D" St. to South "E" Street under Im- provement Resolution #604-1921, no one appearing or remonstrating the Board approved the Final Assessment Roll confirming in all things the original assessment roll-s heretofore approved , and Monday , October 10 , 1921. directed the same to be transmitted forthwith to the Dept . of Finance. The Board directed the Finance Dept . to pay the following Contractor the 5% reserve retained on the following improvement: F. E. Slick, Contractor . _ Resolution No. 572 - 1920 Amount 134.83 The Board instructed Del Davis , City En weer, to place signs on Sailor Street prohibiting parking thereon from 7th to 10th Street . The Clerk was instructed to notify the Postal Telegraph Co. to place their pole on the north-east corner of South 16th & "E" Streets in line with the poles further east , at once. The Board favors the installation of the following water mains, namely: 500 ft. extension on Boyer St . from School St . north; 500 ft extension on Ridge from School St. north ; 500 ft. extension on Ratliff St . from School St . north ; 10 inch circulating main on School St . from Boyer to Harris St. ; the installation of three ( 3) -new hydrants , one t.o be placed at the estreme end of water main on - Boyer St. , one at Ridge & School, one at end of water main on Rat- liff, and one hydrant changed from its present location at Maple & Harris to School E; Harris St. , all as shown by a plat on file in the office of the Board of Public Works ? The Board took such action at this time for the purpose of giving the unemployed employment , and the Board also requested Mr. Dill, Supt. of the Water Works , to re- commend this improvement to the Board of Directors of his comrany. The Board received bids for the construction of cement curb & gutter l' ft wide , and cement sidewalk 9 ' ft wide on the west side of NW. 7th Street from the Peacock Road south to a point 330' ft under Im- pro,-ement Resolution #607-1921 as follows to-wit : - John F. HiDskind bid: Cement curb & gutter l' ft wide per lin. ft. 1.2v Cement sidewalk per square ft. .42 Z . B. Pyle Co. bid: Cement curb & gutter lift wide per lin. ft. 1.09 Cement sidewalk per sq. ft . complete .361 Mr. Peitz moved that as the Z. B. Pile Co' s. bid was the lowest , and within the City Engineer' s estimate , that it be accepted, and the contract so awarded. Seconded by Mr. Price so ordered. The Board then adjourned.
