The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session in the office of said Board Thursday-, Septem- ber 29th, 1921, at 9 A.M. All the members of the siad Board be- ing present Messrs. von Pein, Price, and Feltz the following pro- ceedings were had to-wit :- The Board took up the bids which were submitted Monday, September 26th for Coal for the Municipal Electric Lighting & Power Plant, and said bids were taken under further consideration. The Board approved the Primary Assessment Roll of Benefits and Damages in the matter of the vacation of all that portion of Gar- den Ave. lying west of the a. & 0. R.R. and east of South 5th St . under Declaratory Resolution #153-1921, and fixed Thursday, Oct. - 13th, 1921 as the day of hearing against said assessment. The Board met -to- hear---remonstrances--if-a-ny--o-f persons primarily assessed on account of the improvement of North "A" Street from North 2nd to North. 3rd Street , and North 2nd St. from North "A" Street north to a point where the Co & 0. R.R. tracks cross North 2nd Street , under Improvement Resolution #575-1920, no one appear ing or remonstrating the Board approved the Final Assessma t Roll confirming in all things the original assessment roll as hereto- • fore approved, and directed the same to be transmitted forthwith to the Dept 1 of Finance. The Board met to hear remonstrances if -any of persons primarily assessed on account of the improvement of the let alley running north & south,east of North 18th St. by constructing a cement roadway in said. alley the _full width thereof from North "A" St . south to the 1st alley running east and west 1st north of Main St. under Improvement Resolution #593-1921, no one appearing or remonstrating the Board approved the Fihal Assessment Roll , con- ' firming in all things the original assessment roll as heretofore approved, an directed the same to be transmitted forthwith to - the Dept. of Finance. The Board approved and signed the Contract & Bond of 011ie Mains contractor for the painting of. the Doran, and North 10th Street - bridges. The Board signed the contract of Thos. Turner & Son for install- ing air ducts to the 5000 K.W. Turbine at the Municipal Electric Lighting & Power Plant . The Board unanimously adopted Declaratory Resolution $154-1921, to open and lay out South-west 1st Street (See Resolution) . Mr. Peitz moved that Oliver Knode, owner of lot 12 in Rost' s Add. be instructed to build curb & gutter infront of said lot where same is not already laid. Seconded by Mr. Price so ordered. The City Atty. was instructed to dray up an ordi.n ace appropriating the sum of 075.00 to defray the expenses of the City Engineer to attend the Engineer' s Convention in Baltimore:;'. Md. ; and the sum of 1 60 Thursday, September 29 , 1921. $75.00 to defray the expenses of the Fire Chief to attend the Firemen' s Convention to be .held in Atlanta, Ga. , to present to Council Monday, October 3rd, 1921. Oct. 3, 1921. _ The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session in the office of said Board Monday, October 3, 1921, at 9 A. 1. All the members of the said Board being pre- sent Messrs. von Pein, Price , and Peitz the following proceed- ings were had to-wit: - The Board approved the petition of Chas. Blair for permission to . cut the curb , under private contract, for an 8' ft driveway in front of #11 North 21st Street , subject to the inspection and ap- proval of the City Engineer. • The Board approved the petition of R. D. Sherman for permission to cut the curb , under private contact , for a 7'ft driveway in . front of #424_ SW. 3rd Street ; - subject to. the inspection and ap- proval of, the Gity Engineer. On the request of J. P. Dillon, Supt. of the Light Plant , the Board instructed the City Atty. to prepare an 'appropriation or- dinance of $500.00 to be made to the Miscellaneous Acct. M.E.L. - &. P.P. to present to Council. The Board approved the Bond of the National Valve & Mfg. Co. of Pittsburgh, Pa. , Contractors for the piping for the 5000 K.W. . Turbine & Auxilliaries at the light Plant. D. C. Elleman & 12 others respectfully petition for the Board of Public Works to confer-with the Officials of the Richmond City Water Wks. , and use all their influence to have that company place a water main on -Boyer St. froth School to Stevens St .
