RESOLUTION OF THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE VILLAGE OF PLAINFIELD
TO NEGOTIATE FOR AND CONDEMN CERTAIN PROPERTY
FOR THE PURPOSE OF WIDENING AND IMPROVING VAN DYKE ROAD
WHEREAS, it is necessary that the Village of Plainfield obtain certain property for the
purpose of improving the municipal street system by widening and improving Van Dyke Road for
the public good; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary that specific direction be given to agents of the Village to
accomplish the same,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF PLAINFIELD, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1: The following described property is required by the Village of Plainfield for the
purpose of widening and improving Van Dyke Road:
THE WEST 50 FEET OF THE SOUTH 670 FEET OF THE NORTHEAST QUARTER OF
SECTION 33 TOWNSHIP 37 NORTH RANGE EAST OF THE THIRD PRINCIPAL
MERIDIAN, SAID PARCEL COMPRISING 0.769 ACRES, MORE OR LESS, IN WILL
COUNTY, ILLINOIS.
Section 2: The President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Plainfield hereby find that
the aforementioned property and interest to be acquired therein is necessary to enhance the safety of
the motoring public, convenient, and desirable for the contemplated public use by relieving
congestion and improving the flow of traffic on Van Dyke Road.
Section 3: The Plainfield Village Attorney, as an agent for the Village, is hereby authorized
to negotiate as to compensation to be paid for the aforementioned property and, in the event an
agreement on compensation cannot be reached, the law firm of McKeown, Fitzgerald, Zollner,
Buck, Hutchison & Ruttle, as an agent for the Village, is hereby authorized to commence eminent
domain proceedings.
Section 4: This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and
approval in the manner provided by law.
