The Board rejected all bids on Item #2 of the Specifications fc2 - the piping for the 5000 KC Turbine-Generatcr at the light Plant , submitted September 12th , 1921. The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session in the ofh ce of said Board Thursday, September 22, 1921, at 9. A.M. Two the members of the said Board being present Messrs. Price and Peltz , absent Mr. von Pein, the following pro- ceedings were had to-wit :- , The Clerk presented the complaints from Council of Monday, Septem- ber 19th , 1921. The Board instructed E. E. Miller, Fire Chief, to attend the Fire- men' s Convention to beheld October llth to 14th inclusive, 1921, in Atlanta, Ga. , and the City will pair his expenses. Adelaide & Alice Kearns appeared beforerthe Board in regard to the narrowing of South 17th St. 15' ft on the east side, south of South "E" Street in the Dilks Add. , which question was taken under con- sideration. The City Atty. was instructed to write John Mueller that he had been ordered to take Legal Action against him in regard to the removal of his brick barn from the alley bet . S. 17th 8. 18th Streets., and that the Board had extended the time in which he was to do so, a week. 1 56 Thursday, September 22, 1921. The Board approved the- Primary Assessment Roll in the matter of Improvement 'Resolution #603-1921 for the improvement of the 1st alley east of' South- 8th St. running north & south from S. "H" to S. "J" S t. ;by constructing a cement roadway in said alley the full width thereon-.- The Board met to hear all persons interested or whose property is affected by the- vacation 'of 8' ft off the east side of Sottth 16th St. from South "E" St. to the South Terminal of said street which point is the south line of Tract #557 Official Map, in the - Dilks Add. , under Declaratory Resolution #152-1921, no one ap- pearing and no remonstrance having been filed the Board took Final Action on said resolution, the same being confirmed with- out modification, and the Board ordered that a roll be prepared of all owners or holders of property, and all valuable interest therein sought to be taken, or to be ' injuriously affected., which list or roll shall also describe the property beneficially af® fected, and the Board fixed a price to be assessed as benefits at 625.00 to be pro-rated against the property beneficially af- fected. Bills to the amount of $6, 680.59 were allowed. The Board approved the varous pay rolls up tc Sept. 16th, 1921. The Board received bids for constructional & reinforcing Steel ' for the M. E. L. & P.P. in connection with the installation of turbine & generator as follows: Indiana Bridge Company, Muncie , Indiana , bid: We will furnish structural steel as per drawings and speci- fications-at --------- - -$1,660.00 F.O.B. cars Muncie, freeight allowed to Richmond, Ind. If the 1 - 15" 42# Beam 6'4" long, and the 4-15" 40f channels 13' 0" long ar.e omitted, deduct 685.00 from the above price. Reinforcing steel cut to length, including necessary boding. as per specifications for 6 195.00 F.O.B. cars Muncie, freight allowed to Richmond. The General Iron Works Co. , Cincinnati , O. bid: Structural and Reinforcing Steel , F.O.B. Cincinnati , allowing present car load rate of freight to Richmond, Ind. according to specifications 61 893.00 If one 15" I-beam 42# , 6'4" Yong and four 15" channels. .40f, 14' long are omitted , deduct the sum of $93.00 from the figure quoted above: Pan American Bridge Co. , Newcastle , Indiana, bid: Reinforcing and structural Steel as per specifications, F.Q. B. cars Richmond, Indiana, 01,960.00 If one 15" Beam 6' 4" and four 15" channels with 4" plate be omitted, deduct 6102 .60 from the above price. The Board accepted the bid of the Pan American Bridge Co. of 61960.00, it being the only bid received in accordance Frith• spec.- fications , and awarded 8&.id company the tract. d • The Board then ad jor reed.
