The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session in the office of said Board Monday, Septen.ber 12, 1921, at 9 A.M. Messrs. von Pein and Peitz being present the fol- lowing proceedings were had to-wit:- The Board received from the P.C. C. & St. L. R.R. Co. a petition for the installation of a fire alarm box at their shops on the Gaar Road. The Board granted the request and instructed the Fire Chief to install said box. Mr. Peitz moved that the Clerk be instructed to notify John Mueller to have his barn moved from the alley between South 17th & 18th Sts. within 10 days from this date. So ordered. . The Board took up the bids submitted Thursday, July 28th, 1921, for Coal for the City Light Plant, and on motion of Mr. Peitz all the bids were rejected, and the Clerk was instructed to re-advertise according to specifications furnished by the Supt. of the Light Plant. The City Engineer reported the completion of the Contract under Improvement Resolution #605-1921 for the improvement of South "F" Street from South 8th to South 9th St . by constructing a cement sidewalk 5'ft wide on the south side of said street. The Board ac- cepted same and ordered an assessment roll prepared. The Board unanimously adopted the following resolution to-wit :- Whereas, the Board of Public Works on July 21, 1921, made a contract with Geo. B. Daugherty and A. J. Davis' for cleaning and painting the Doran and North 10th Street Bridges in the City of Richmond, and Whereas, said Daugherty and Davis have failed to fulfill their part of such contract and have notified the City of their inability to carry out such contract, and Whereas, the work already done by said parties under such con-- tract is 'of inferior character, and not according to specifications thereby greatly damaging the City, Therefore be it resolved that such contract is hereby cancell- ed, and the City Engineer is ordered to prepare further specifica- tions and place the same on file with the Clerk for cleaning and painting such bridge, and the Clerk to re-advertise for bids.
