A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD APPROVING
2014 FOURTH OF JULY STREET CLOSURES FOR CORNISH AVENUE, PLATT
AVENUE, PINE STREET, SAMPSON AVENUE AND CORTLAND STREET BLOCK
WATCH GROUP STREET PARTIES AND WAIVING CITY SPECIAL PERMIT FEES
FOR THESE EVENTS
WHEREAS, requests have been made by the Cornish Avenue (Agnes Avenue to
Magnolia Avenue), Platt Avenue (Gertrude Drive to Ernestine Avenue), Pine Street
(Beechwood Avenue to 'Sanborn Avenue), Sampson Avenue (Shirley Avenue to Le
Sage Street) and Cortland Street (Shirley Avenue to Le Sage Street) Block Watch Clubs
to close portions of their streets; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the closures are to celebrate the 4th of July holiday;
and
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council approves the waiver of City Special Permit Fees
for the requested, 2014 July 4th Block Watch street closures.
Section 2. The City Council further finds, per V.C. 21101 (e) that the closure of
these streets on July 4, 2014 during the approved event times are necessary for the
safety and protection of persons in attendance at the block parties and hereby approves
such street closures.
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 1St day of July, 2014.
