The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session in the office of said Board Thursday, July 28 , 1921, at 9 A.M. All .the members of the said Board being present Messrs. von Pein, Taylor, and Peitz the following proceedings were had to-wit. : - Tne City Civil Engineer reported the completion of a contract un- der Improvement Resolution #592-1921 for the improvement of the - 1st alley north of Chestnut Street from NFL. 1st to NW. 2nd Street, the Board accepted same and ordered an assessment roll prepared. - The Board took up the bids submitted Monday, July 25th, 1921, un- der Improvement Resolution #603-1921 providing for the improvement of tte 1st alley east of South Mt Street from South "Ha► to South - " tT Street, and Mr. Peltz moved that the bid of Z. B. Pyle Co. be accepted. and the contract so awarded. Seconded by Mr. Taylor. motion prevailed. - The Board received bids for coal for the Municipal Electric Light- ing & Power Plant as follows to-wit: - Klehfoth-Niewoehner Company bid: 9000 to 25,000 tons of Hazard 4 nut & slack coal at 02.25 per ton f. o.b. mines. Smith-Osborn Coal Sales Company bid: 9000 tons more or less 2" nut & slack coal originating inI/ the state of Kentucky and known as Seams Harlan ---- 02.75 per ten €.o.b. mines. 100 tons more or less Smokeless Run ,of Mine coal, U. Va. 04.00 per ton f. o. b. mines. 9000 tons of 2" nut & slack originating in W.Va. known as #2 Gas Seam - 03.00 per ton f.o.b. mines. Thursday , 'truly 20th , 1921. 1 9 9000 tons more or less " nut & slack originating in W. Va. and Kentucky, known as Chilton Eagle Gas and Island Creek from West Virginal , and #1 Seam From Kee Lucky 5 2.n"5 per ton f.o.b. mines. Hackman, Klehfoth & Company bid : Campbell' s Creek nut & slack, and West Virginia #5 Seam, Kanawha County, f. o. b. Cars Cincinnati 3.90 per ton. I/ Price Coal Co. of Richmond, Indiana, bid: Clest Virginal Kanawha District, & Eastern Kentucky Hazard District l2 & 2" nut & slack, price per ton of 2000 lbs. for delivery 2.25. Mr. Peitz moved that the aha ve bids be taken under advisement until Thursday, August 4th, 1921. Seconded by Hr. Taylor motion prevailed. The Board did then adjourn . Pres . of the Board. All the members of the said Board being present Messrs. von Fein, Taylor, and Peitz., the following rroceedingo were had to- wit : - The Board met to hear remonstrances if any of persons pry marily assessed on account of the improvement of the alley between Test Kinsey & Vest Pearl Street from West 1st to West 3rd Street by cones strueting a cement roadway in said alley the full width thereof un_-= der Inn ro vemen t Resolution #591-19211 no one appearing or remon- _ strating the Board approved the Final Assessment Roll comfirming in _ all things the original assessment roll as heretofore approved, and -directed the same to be transmitted forthwith to the Dept. of Pinanc The Board approved the Primary Assessmat Roll in the matter of Im- provement Resolution #592-1921 for the construction of a cementroa.d- _ way the full width of the 1st alley north of Chestnut Street from - NW. let to NW. 2nd Street .
