The Board of yublic Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session in the office of said Board Thursday, June 23,1921 at 9 A.M. All the members of the said Board being present Messrs. von Pein, Taylor, and Pel tz the following proceedings were had to- wit :- The Board allowed the claim of the Citizens' Mutual Fire Insurance Company of $1.00 for the transfer of the Insurance Policy #2239 at #321 North 3rd St . The Board received bids for installing new smoke stack at city crematory as follows: Graham & Decker bid: Will furnish a stack on base at Crematory all complete, stack to be 36" Dia. , 50' ft high, made of 10 gauge material, with 8 guy wires, band at top & bottom, painted inside & out - 0458.7! or the same made out of 12 gauge material for $423.0( Thos. Turner & Son bid:_ One 36" X not less than 50 ft. stack made of #10 gauge steel with base of stack made to fit base plate now on top of brick stack. Stack to be furnished complete with all guy wires, eye bolts, etc. , and painted. Job complete including all material and erection of stack $363.5( Mr. Feltz moved that the bids for above mentioned stack be taken un= der advisement until Monday, June 27th. Seconded by Mr. Taylor so ordered. The Board met to hear remonstrances if any of persons Primarily Ass. _ essed on account of the construction of a cement roadway in alley between West Main & Kinsey St. the full width thereof from West 2nd to West 3rd St. under Improvemaa t Resolution #585-1921, no one ap- pearing or remonstrating the Board approved the Final Assessment Rol confirming in all things the original assessment roll as heretofore approved, and directed the same to be transmitted forth th to the Dept. of Finance. The City Engineer reported the completion of a contract under Im- provement Resc luti on #597-1921 for the improvement of the alley be- tween Lincoln & Randolph Sts. by constructing a cement roadway in said alley the full width thereof, from West 1st of West 2nd Street, The Board accepted same and ordered an assessment roll prepared. Mr. Davis, City Engineer, presented a communication from John W. Yost , City Engineer of Newcastle , Indiana, in which he stated that the City of Newcastle would like to rent Richmond' s Sewer Cleaning Machine for a short time. Mr. Peitz moved that the City Engineer be instructed to answer this communication allowing Newcastle to have the machine at $7.00 per day, seconded by Mr. Taylor so ordered The Board thenadjourned. `� / Attest: Pres. of the oard..
