NOTICE OF AWARD OF CHANGEORDER
Please be advised that on January 18, 2018 the Borough Council
of the Borough of Carteret, Middlesex County, New Jersey, adopted
a Resolution authorizing Change Order #2 & Final providing for a
net increase in the contract price in the amount of $13,857.33 re-
sulting in a revised contract price of $606,658.74.
The Change Order specifically was for Lucas Brothers, Inc.
for the Minue Street & Industrial Road Improvements Project.
The Borough's Engineer has certified that the change was necessary
and not anticipated at the beginning of the project.
Copies of Resolution #18 -12 and supporting documents are on file

APPROVING CHANGE ORDER #2 & FINAL
MINUE STREET & INDUSTRIAL ROAD IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT
WHEREAS, the Governing Body of the Borough of Carteret has previously awarded a
contract to Lucas Brothers, Inc., in the amount of $535,766.07 for the Minue Street &
Industrial Road Improvements Project; and
WHEREAS, the Borough's Consulting Engineer for the project, T &M Associates, has
advised the Governing Body that a modification of the contract is reasonable and
necessary and has recommended that the aforesaid contract be modified in accordance
with Change Order #2 (see attached); and
WHEREAS, Change Order #2 provides a net increase in the contract price in the amount
of $13,857.33, resulting in a revised contract price of $606,658.74, including all change
orders to date; and
WHEREAS, the Borough's Consulting Engineer, T &M Associates has advised that the
above described changes and/or modifications to the project were unforeseen at the time
of the award of the original contract.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Borough
of Carteret as follows:
1. That Change Order #2 attached hereto and made a part hereof,
providing for a net increase of $13,857.33 in the overall
contract price, resulting in a revised total contract price of
$606,658.74 including any modifications to the original
contract price in accordance with any and all previously
approved change orders, is hereby approved.
2. That the appropriate Borough Officials are hereby authorized
to execute Change Order #2 and Final, based upon the
recommendation of the Borough Engineer and subject to
attorney review of the maintenance bond.
3. A copy of this resolution and a fully executed copy of Change
Order #2 & Final be forwarded to the Borough's Purchasing
Department and T &M Associates for distribution to Lucas
Brothers, Inc.
Adopted this 18 day of January, 2018
and certified as a true copy of the
original on January 19, 2018.
