The Board of Public VV`ori_c of the C i of _li.c_Irlozcc , Inc_i ana, met in regular session in the office of sai d Board Thursday, June 9th, 1921, at 9 A.M. All the members of the Lai Board being preseat Messrs . von =ein,• Taylor, and Feltz the follo-::Ine proceedings were • had to-wit : - The Board received written objections signed by 40%. of the abutt- ing p o—pe-r.t_y gagers , against the improvement of the alley between South -we-st- 2nd- ;- S-ou th-we-st 3rd Street ; running east 8: west ; and being, the 1-st alley south of National Avenue in the City of Rich- mond, India a, under Improvement Res oluti on #601-1921, which im- provement the Board ordered made on June 2nd, 1921. After con -- si dering the objections filed Mr. Feltz moved that the City Atty be instructed to assist the CityClerk in filing a copy of such order of improvement with the County Clerk. . Seconded by Mr . Taylor so ordered. Mr. Feltz moved that th.e bid •of the Burroughs Adding Machine Co. of 42 r.50 for an electric adding machine for the Engineering Dept. submitted June 6th, • 1921 be accepted and the contract so awarded. Seconded by Mr1 Taylor so ordered. The Board received a petition for the passage of a resolution pro- • viding for cement roadway in the alley 1st east of South 8th St. - from South "H" to "J" St. -Referred to the City Engineer for plans and papers. - • • The Board received •a communication from. the Richmond ,City 'Water «ks. in regard •to placing a fire hydrant South 1st „t. for protection of the Starr Piano Company, vtic.h was ordered placed on file . The Clerk ,:resented the complaints from Council of Monday, June 6th, 1921. • The Board received a complaint from John Eggemeyer in regard to shade trees needing to be trimmed at i;�132 South 14th Street. The Board instructed the Police Dept . to notify property owners at said location to 9,aY7e said trees trimmed. The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resoluti on =602--1921 to improve the alley between South 17th & 18th St. from South "A" St. north to the northterininaal.; thence east to South 18th St . by con- structing a come nt roadway in said al ley the full width th erect. The Board met to hear all persons i.nterestec or whose property is affected by the vacation of the 1st alley running east & west south of Mouth "A" Street from South 3rd to South 4rh St. under Declaratory Resoluti on ; 151--I921. No one appearing and, no remon-- strance having been filed the Board took final acti on on rrEi d re-- soluti on the sumac being confirmed without modification, and the • Board ordered that a roll be prepared of all owners or holders of property and all valuable interest therein sought to be taken or to be injuriously affected, and which list or roll she it also de- scr'_f be the r..ropert y beneficially affected, and the Board fixed a -orlce to be assessed as benefits at 02.50 per front ft . on both 3rd & 4th S t. • TnUrs day, ;June 9 , 1921. i. r. Taylor so ordered. The Board approved and slimed the contract & bond of Daniel G. WO Burkhardt , contractcr under Improvement iesoluti on y�600 - 1921. :he Board met to hear remonstrances if any of persons Primarily Assessed on account of the construction of a Sanitary Sewer in the alley between Ratliff & Ridge St. from School Street to Stevens Street under Immrovement aesclation u 588 -- 1921. No one appear- ing or remonstrating the ' Board approved the F i nai Assessment Roll confirming in all things the oric'ina1 assessment roll as hereto-- fore aprroved and now direct the same to be transmitted forthwith to the Dept. of Finance. The Board took up Lnnrovenient Resolution w 601=1921 to im_^rove the alley 1st south of the National Road by constmuctin7 a ce'-2"-• 't road- way in said alley the full width thereof from South-west 2nd to South-west 3rd St. Mr. Peitz moved that all previous action on said resolution be recinded . Seconded by Mr. Taylor so ordered.
