Monday, May 16 , 1921.
The Board approved and signed the Contract E, Bond of Hans H. i,'ag-
ner, Contractor under Improvement 'Resolution #592-1921 , and #593-
1921.
The Board approved and signed the Contrant & Bond of Z. B. Pyle
Co. , Contractor under Improvement hesoluti on #594--1921 .
The Board ap-proved the Primary Assessment hall of Benefits & Dam-
ages in the matter -of the vacation of the alley north of lot #1 ,
and east -of lots 2- to 11 inclusive, and south of lot i11 ; also
vacation of the principal part of North-west 4th Street , all in
r�illiam Griffin' s Addition, under Declaratory Resolution #150 -
1921, and- fixed Thursday, June 2nd , 1921 as the day of hearing
against said assessment.
The Board then adjourned.

The Board of Pnbli c Works :of the City of hi chnond, Indi ana , met
in regular session in the office of said Board Thursday, May 19 ,
1921, at 9 A.M. All the members of the said Board being present
Messrs . von Pein, Taylor , and Peltz the following proceedings
were had to-wit : -
The Bard met to hear all persons interested in or Those property
is affected by the construction of cement si-deTalks, also cement
curb & gutter on both sides of South 3rd Street from South "A" to
South "D" Street under Improvement Resolution #600-1921. After
hearing all persons who appeared, and a remonstrance signed by
Ida K. Wickemeyer & 18 others having been filed the Board refer-
red same to the City Engineer to check up, and continued the
hearing until Monday , May 23rd, 1921, at 9 A.M.
The Clerk reported that parties living at #400 North 13th Street
wart the guy wire from the Electric Tight Pole removed so that
they can put down a cement walk. This matter was referred to the
- Supt. of the Light Plant.
The Clerk presented a complaint from Council of Monday , May 16th
which was referred tc the City Engineer.

The Board received bids for the improvement of both sides of N.
"H" Street from North llth Street to North 12th Street under Im-
provement Resoluti on #594-19.21 as follows :
Z . B. Pyle bid :
Cement sidewalk per square foot 0.31
Circle curb & gutter per linear- foot 1.21
Straight curb & gutter per linear foot -- 0.99
Daniel G. Burkhardt bid:
Cement sidewalk per square foot
Circle curb & gutter per linear foot 1.80
Straight curb & gutter per linear foot 1.55
Mr. Peitz moved that as the bid of Z . B. Pyle Co. was the lowest,
and within the En_`^_neer' s estimate that it be accepted and the con-
tract so awarded. Seconded by Mr. Taylor motion prevailed.
The Board instructed Mr. Hollarn, Supt:. of Glen Miller Park , to
rebuild the Band Stand.
The Board then adjourned .

The Board of Public Works of the City of l:ichmond , Indiana, met in
regular session in the office of said Board Monday, May 16, 1921 ,
- at 9 A.M. All the members of the said Board being present I.iessrs.
von Pein, Taylor, and Peitz , the following proceedings were had to-
wi t .
The Board met to hear remonstrances if any of. persons Primarily
Assessed on account of the construction of the cement roadway in
the 1st alley south of North "A" Street from 9th Street to the al-
ley running north & south between 8th & 9th Street under Improve-
me t Resolution PI_586 19211 no one appearing or remonstrating the
Board approved the Final Assessment loll confirming in all things
the original assessment roll as heretofore approved, and directed
the same to be transmitted forthwi th to the Dept . of Finance.

The Board granted Earl J. Wright permission to install a gasoline
oil & air di spenser infront of #31 South 5th Street providing that
he files a bond & contract covering same.
The Board approved and signed the Agreement between Grand Rapids &
Indiana R.i .C°. operating the Cincinnati , Richmond & Ft. Viavne R.R.
and the Municipal Electric Lighting Power Plant for a license.
for constructing and maintaining wires for the conduct of electric
current across the right of ray and over the wires and tracks of
the R.R. Co.. at Richmond, Indi anal the proposed crossing to be at
Mile Post 0 plus 4893 ft. north of the Richmond Station. ( See
l greenrent ) .
The Board received bids for the construction of a Sanitary Sewer
in the alley between Ridge & Boyer Streets from School St . to
Stevens Street under Improvement Resolution i596-1921 ad follows:
John F. Duke bid:
Sewer complete per linear foot v 4.31
S . B. Pyle Co. bid:
Sewer complete per linear foot V 5.03
As one of the bidders failed to sign his certified check 8 bid , the
Board decided to tal-e sage under advisement until Monday, May 23rd
at 9 o' clock A.M.
The Board granted the Rotary Club permission to place a • si_gn,ad.-
verti si ng Glen Miller Park, just north of the 16th Street Bridge on
the west side of the street.
The Beard reported the sale of the Market Master' s bicycle for the
sum of a15.00.
The Board instructed the Clerk .to advertise for bids for an auto-
mobile chasi s for the Engineering Department.
The Board then adjourned.
