The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met
in Special Session in .the office of said Board Saturday, April
30, 1921, at 10 A.M. . Two members of the said Board being pre-
sent Messrs. von Fein and Peitz , absent Mr. Taylor, the following
pro ceedi ngs were had to:wit : - •

The Board met to receive bids for the imrorovement of South "E" St.
from South 5th Street to South 16th Street by paving the roadway . •
of sai d street in such porti on thereof as i.s not provided for by
-- the 3-Mile Road Proceedings for the improvement of such highway
now pending before the Board of County Commissl. oners of Wayne Co.
Indiana, such street paving to be of like kind as that adopted by
said Board of County Commissi oners, and also for • the improvement
of said street by the building of cement curb & gutter on•both
sides thereof; said street to be paved with one of the following
kinds_of pavement to-wit -_Bri ck ; Concrete; Creosoted Wood Block;
or Bituminous Macadam on Concrete Base under Improvement Resolution
f578-1920; the following bid being received ;

Cement _roadway. complete, per_square yard • S 2.80 •
Straight curb & gutter ( 1' ft wide ) per tin ft. - `' 1.26
Circle Curb & Gutter (1' ft wide) per lin ft. 15 . 1.30
Sewer-24"diary per linear foot �`' 4.72 •
.. Inlet - pipe 12"inch diam laid per lin foot • 2.00.
Inlet castings set ( each) 30.00
Total Bid 0 .27 ,441.50.
The Board decided that -as-the County' s portion of the above im •
-
provement is to be concrete that the City' s portion of sai d • South
"E" Street be improved by paving the roadway with concrete also,
according to the plans and speci fi cations under Improvement Reso-
luti on'#578=1920. Only one bid being received and that being with
in the Engineer' s esti mate Mr. Peitz moved that the above bid be
accepted and the Contract awarded the L. P. Beard Construction Co.
of Indianapolis, Indiana . Seconded by Mr. von Pein motion pre® •
vaned.
The Board then adjourned.' •
