The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond , Indiana, met
in regular session in the office of said Board Thursday, April
28, 1921, at 9 A.M. All the members of the said Board being pre-
sent Messrs. von Pein, Taylor, and Peltz the following proceed-

ings were had to -wit :-
The Board met to hear all persons interested in or whose pooperty
is affected by the construction of a cement roadway in the alley
running east and. west 1st north of Chestnut St. from NW. 1st St.
to NW. 2nd St. under Improvement Resolution #592-1921. No one - I/
appearing and no remonstrance having been filed the Boar-d decid-
ed that the benefits to property liable to be assessed for said
improvement are equal to the cost of same as reported by the City
Engineer, and thereupon took final action on said resolution, the
same being confirmed wi. th out modification,. and the Clerk was in-
structed to advertise for bids.
The Board met to hear all persons interested in or whose property
is affected by the construction of a cement roadway in the 1st al-
ley running north and south ,east of North 18th Street from North
"A" St. south to the 1st alley running east and west let north of
• Main St. under Improvement Resolution #593-1921. After hearing
all persons who appeared and no remonstrance having 'been filed the
Board decided that the benefits to property liable to be assessed
for said improvement are equal to the cost of same as reported by
the City Engineer, and thereupon took final action on said reso-
lution, the same being confirmed without modification, and the
Clerk was instructed to advertise for bids.
The Board met to hear all persons interested in or whose property
. is affected by the construction of cement sidewalks, curb & gut-
ter on both sides of North H Street from North llth to North 12th .
St. under. improvement resoluti on # 594-1921. After hearing all •
persons who appeared and no remonstrance having been filed the
Board decided that the benefits to property liable to be assessed
for said improvement are equal to the cost of same as reported by
the City Engineer, and thereupon took final action on said resolu-
tion the same being confirmed without modification, and the Clerk
was instructed to advertise for bids.
The Board met to hear all'_per:ons interested or whose property is
affected by the constructi on of a cement roadway in the 1st alley
running east and west, south of the Natl. Road from South-west 2nd
to i:outh--west 3rd St. ; also in the alley running north and south
between South-west 2nd & South-west 3rd St.. from the let alley
south of the Nati' Road to South-west "E" St. under Improvement Re-
solution #595-1921. After hearing all persons who 'appeared and a
remonstrance having been filed by James E. Hose and 26 others the
Board on motion of Hr. Peltz seconded by Mr. Taylor referred the
remonstrance to the Engineer .and postponed the hearing until Hon-
day May 2nd at 9 o' clock A.M.
The Board met to hear remonstrances and take final action on De- •

claratory Resolution -#149-1921 to change the grade of a portion
of a certain street generally known as the National Road. After
hearing all persons interested who appeared, and remonstrances
signed by Esther Griffin White, and others, having been filed the
Board proceeded to hear the same, and being duly advised in the
matter over ruled the same, and now the Board took final action on
-said resolution confirming without modification all former action
taken on same.
The Board granted Wm. Hazlitt permission to remove the sod from off
I/ Stevens Street in Benton Heights.
The Board met to receive bids for the improvement of Hunt Street &
Linden Avenue from Linden Avenue to 1st alley north ; -als-o to im-
prove Ridge & Charles Street from Charles St. to let alley south
by constructing storm water sewers on. said Hunt & Ridge Streets un-
der Improvement Resolution #598-1921, which were received as fol-
lows :

Mr. Peitz moved that the bid of John Duke being the lowest and with
- in the Engineer' s estimate that it be accepted, and the contract st
awarded. Seconded by Mr. Taylor motion prevailed. -
