Bills to the amount of 07 ,765.63 were allowed. The Board -approved the various pay rolls up to April 16th, 1921. The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session in the office of said Board Monday, April 25, 1921, at 9 A.M. All the members of the said Board being present Messrs. von Pein, Taylor, and Feltz , the following proceedings were had to-wit: - The Board met to hear remonstrances if any of persons Primarily Assessed on account of the construction of 'a Sanitary Sewer over and across lot 28 Original Plat of Oakland , in the rear of lots on the west side of South .7th Street from South "J" to _ South "L" Street under Improvement Resolution #583-1920. No one appearing or remonstrating the Board approved the Final Assessement Roll confirming in all things the original assessment roll as hereto- fore approved and now direct the same be transmitted forthwith to the Dept. of Finance. The Board approved the Primary Assessment Roll in the matter of Improvement Resolution 44586-1921 for the construction of a cement roadway in the 1st alley south of North "A" Street from North 9th to the alley running north and south between North 8th & 9th Sts. The Board approved the Primary Assessment Roll of benefits & dam- ages in the matter of the widening of a portion of the alley bet. South 1'7th & 18th Streets where a brick barn stands in said alley located on Tract 497 Official Map of the City of Richmond, under Declaratory Resolution 0148-1921. I/ The Board received a notice from the Secretary of the Public Ser- vice of Indiana that the hearing on the petition of. the Richmond City Water Works for authority to issue 50,000.00 in stock would be held on Thursday, April 28th, 1921, at 11 A.M. in the rooms of the Public Service Commission, State House , Indianapolis, Indiana. Which was referred to the City Attorney. The Board instructed. the Clerk to advertise for bids for coal ,. Monday, April 25, 1921. 103 for the Municipal Electric Lighiting & Power Plant according to the specifications furnished _by Mr. Dillon Supt. of the Plant. . The. Board received -a complaint from James- P. . Dillon, Supt. of the Light Plant, in regard to the Crematory operated by F. E. Slick, ' -. stating that the employees of the Light Plant have entered -a vigor our complaint relative to this matter. This complaint was re- ferred to W. W. Keen, Sanitary Inspector. I/ . . ' Mr. Peitz moved to accept the Richmond Coal Company'-s proposition for a car load of coal a:t8.00 per ton delivered at Glen Miller ' Park. Seconded by Mr. Taylor so ordered. • , The Primary Assessment Roll in the matter of. the widening of North- • 3rd Street the same being done under Improvement Resolution #147 1921 is, now completed, and the Board adopts the same and awards dam. ' ages to property and assesses benefits to property as the same ap- pears in such assessment roll. All damages awarded to the owners of pieces of property appearing- on such assessment roll are made • upon the express condition that such city now appropriates for its own use all of such pieces of property as the same are described, ' free, clear, and discharged of all liens and incumbrances on the same, and such City shall hereafter own each piece of such property. for which damages are awarded in fee simple. And the Board finds that Margaret Moore, on e of the persons having an interest in the land affected by these proceedings is of unsound mind, and that Linnie C. Moore is her Guardian under appointment of. the Wayne Cir- cuit Court of Indiana , - and- and the Board now directs that a -noti ce of_ the damages. assessed to the land owned by said Margaret Moore be served on her guardian, and the Board further finds that no other person affected by these -proceedings is of unsound mind, nor is any person affected ah infant. . The Board .now directs that written no- tices shall be given as by law provided to each person affected by - -these proceedings, and that a day be fixed in said notices not earl- ier than 10 days after the services of said notices upon which the • Board shall receive and-hear remonstrances from persons with regard to the amount of their respective awards or assessments. • The Board then -adjourned. 7'. _ • • Pres. of thard.
