The Board of Public ,forks of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met
in regular session in the office of said Board Monday, P,Iarc'n 21,
• 1921, at 9 A.M. - All the members of the said Board being present •
Messrs. von Fein, Taylor, and reltz the following porceedings
were had to-wit :-
The Board met to hear all persons interested or whose property
is affected by-the improvement of Kinsey, St. from Vest 1st to
West 5th St . by paving the roadway with one of the following -
modern city pavements to-wit : Asphalt ; Brick Creosoted :'food
Block; or . Tarvi a Macadam under Improvement Resolution `589-1921.
.Attar hearing all persons interested who appeared and a remon-
strance having been filed signed by Thomas McManus and 37 others
Mr. Feltz moved that the remonstrance be referred to the City •
• Engineer, and the hearing continued, unti l Monday , March 28th, 1921.
Seconded by Mr. Taylor so ordered.
The Board- approved the petition of Augtust Kohnle tc lay under
private contract a sewer to connect with Garden Avenue sewer at
528 South 6th Street subject to the inspection and approval of the
City Civil Engineer.
The Board approved the petition of Chas . Beck to cut the curb for
a driveway infront of 535 SW. "A" Street subject to the insect ion
and approval of the City Civil Engineer.
Mayor 'Zimmerman informed the Board that he had received word from
Mr. Van Auken of the Commission that the' Cit;T ' s request for Bond
Issue for 315,000.O0 for the M.E.L. & P.P. was granted.
The Board received a petition signed by Ben. C . Bartel, and Eugene
W . Price for the .passage of a resolution for the widening of the
alley running north and south between South 17th & 18th Streets,
from South . "A" St . north to the rout?, line of Tract 498 , Official

of the alley now occupied by a brick barn, tuated on the west
side of said alley and located on Tract 497 , Official. Map of t'.- e
City. Said widening to conform with the present wi dth of said al-
, _ ley north & south of said alley . Which was referred to the City
Engineer for papers.
The Board unanimously adopted InTrovement Resoluti on 591-1921 to
improve the alley between West Kinsey . West Pearl Streets from
l�'est let to 'Wiest 3rd St. by constructing cement. roadway in said al-
ley.
The City Civil Engineer reported the completi on of a contract tin-
der Improvement Resolution 7583-1920 for a Sanitary Sewer running
over and across lot u 28 Or.i ^•inal .Plat of Oakland, 'in the rear of
lots on the .:est side of South 7th Street from South "J" to "L" St.
The Board accepted same and ordered an assessment roll .prepared.
The Board put m a bid of 2.00 per cubic yard to remove the ashes
from the Post Office Bldg. during the Fi scal year ending June 30th,
• 1922.

The Board approved and signed the Bond and Contract of Forest E.
Slick, Contractor under Improvement Resolution 1, 588-1921.
The Board received a communi cation from the Dwayne-Robinson Cc. of-
fering to furnish castings to the City at a pri ce of 4.0.06 per lb .
under the same general terms and conditi one as heretofore furnished
The Board. instructed the Clerk to write said company and obtain a
pri ce not delivered, and also delivered) and a definite price per
- pound or per casting..
The Board anyproved the Bonds & Contracts of the General Iron Works
Co. , and Stephen s-Adamson Mfg. Co. for coal handling equipment for
the 1,1.E.B. E. P.P.
The Board instructed the City Engineer to purchase the necessary
. Tarvia X. for the season 1921.
The Board instructed the City Atty. to prepare an _ordi nance for an
Additional Appropriation of e1500.00 for the. purchase of -an auto
truck for the Street Dept.
Bills to the. amount of -9 , 517 .30 were allowed.
The Board approved the various pay rolls up to March 16th , 1921.
The Board then adjourned. .
