The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in the office of said Board Monday, February 21, 1921 at 9 A.M. All the menbers of the said Board being present Messrs. von Pein, Taylor, and Peitz, the following proceedings were had to-wit :- -The Board met to hear all persons interested in or whose property is affected by the construction of -a cement roadway in the alley between Randolph & Lincoln St. from West 2nd to West 3rd St. under Improvement Resolution #584-1921. After hearing all persons who appeared, and no remonstrance having been filed the Board decided that the benefits to property liable to be assessed for said Im- provement are equal to the cost of same as reported by the City Engineer, and thereupon took final action on said resolution, the same being confirmed without modification, and the Clerk was in- structed to advertise for bids. The Board met to hear all persons interested in or whose property is affected by the construction of a cement roadway in the alley between West Main & Kinsey St.from West 2nd to West 3rd St. under Improvement Resolution #585-1921. After hearing all- persons who appeared, and no remonstrance having been filed the Board decided that the benefits to- property liable to be assessed for said Im- provement are equal to the cost of same as reported by the City Engineer, and thereupon took final action on said resolution, the same being eo n_firmed without modification, and the Clerk was in- structed to advertise for bids. The Board met to hear all persons interested in or whose property is affected by the construction of a cement roadway in the first alley south of North "A" St. from North 9th St. to the alley run- ning north and south between North 8th & 9th Sts. under Improve-. ment Resolution No. 586-1921. After hearing all persons who ap- peared, and no remonstrance having been filed the Board decided that the benefits to property liable to be assessed for said im- . provement are equal to the cost of same as reported by the City Engineer, and thereupon took final action on said resoluti oh, the same being confirmed without modification, and the Clerk was in- structed to advertise for bids. The Board met to hear all persons interested in or whose property is affected by Improvement Resolution #587-1921 providing for the improvement of the Commons Road from NW. 5th St. to the West Cor- porati.on Limits of the City of Richmond, Indiana, by paving the roadway in such portion thereof as is not provided for by the 3- Mi.le Road proceedings for the improvement of such highway-now pend ing before the Board of County Commissioners of Wayne Co. , Indiana Said roadway to be paved with one of the following kind of modern city pavement to-wit; Brick - Concrete - - Creosoted-wood-block or Granit block; also for the improvement of said roadway by the building of cement curb & gutter on either side thereof. After hearing all persons interested who appeared, and no remonstrance having been filed the Board decided that the estimated cost of the improvement is more than 50% of the assessed valuation of the pro- perty liable to be assessed for said improvement as reported by the City Civil Engineer. The City agrees to pay the cost of the 72 Monday, February 21, 1921. street and alley intersections. Mr. Peitz moved to confirm the resolution #587-1921 without modification, and for the Clerk to advertise for bids. Seconded by Mr. Taylor so ordered. The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution #589-1921 - for the improvement of Kinsey Street from Test 1st to West 5th Street by paving the roadway with one, of the following kinds of modern city pavement to-wit :- Asphalt - Brick - Creosoted--- wood-block or Tarvia Macadam. The Board approved the Contract _and Bond of the Bennett' s Tire Store as Principal, and the United States Fidelity & Guaranty I/ Co. of Baltimore, Md. as Surety, in the matter of installing a Gasoline, Oil & Air Dispenser infront of1512 Main Street, ( See Contract '& Bond) . The Board instructed the Clerk to advertise for bids for 20,000 gallons more-or-less of Tarvia "B". or its equal. Bills to the amount of. 610,329.63 were allowed. The Board approved the various payrolls tip to February 18 , 1921. The Board then adjourned. Pres. of the Board. Attest : t k s� Clerk of the Board.
