WHEREAS, the long term vitality and character of the Village of Plainfield is rooted in
its historic downtown; and,
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Board of Trustees have engaged two consulting firms to
develop a Development Concept Plan and Design Standards; and,
WHEREAS, such a plan and its accompanying standards have been reviewed by the
Village board and they desire its eventual adoption; and,
WHEREAS, the Village's Plan commission is presently reviewing the plan and
standards in detail to make its final recommendation to the Board;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Board of Trustees
express their policy intent to adopt such reasonable Design Standards and use the
Concept Plan in its determination of zoning and building requests originating within the
plan area effective immediately.
