WHEREAS, The Village of Plainfield believes that the extension of 143rd Street
east from Raute 59 toward I-55 is necessary to provide a northern east-west bypass of
downtown Plainfield.
WHEREAS, The Village of Plainfield believe an extended 143rd Street would
act as a first step to removing traffic frarn the downtown.
WHEREAS, The Village of Plainfield requests the County not remove the 143rd
Street extension from its Regiona12020 Transportation Plan.
WHEREAS, The Village of Plainfield respectively requests that all and every
statistical data complied concerning traffic alleviation and all corridors be considered in
the Will County Regiona12020 Transportation Plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Board of Trustees
that the Will County Board members give the Village fair representation and recommend
to the Will County Land Use Department placement of the proposed extension to its
regional transportation plan for the year 2020; ~ _
