PLAINFIELD VILLAGE BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEETING
Regular Meeting
DATE: March 7, 1977
AT: Village Hall
MEMBERS OF BOARD PRESENT: Complete Board was present
President Pottarff called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m, with the
Pledge to the Flag. Roll call was taken. All members of the Board were
present.
J. King made a motion to approve the minutes of the February 7th, 14th,
21st and 2$th meetings as printed. Seconded by G. Beahm. Motion declared
carried.
R. Selfridge made a motion to approve current invoices for payment. Seconded
by G. Ansley. Vote by roll call: Beahm, aye; Robinson, aye; 'Ansley, aye;
King, aye; Selfridge, aye. Five ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
Board granted approval far Tom Sharp to attend a pre-hospital care seminar
in Chicago relative to Emergency Services and Disaster Agency at a cost
of $70.00.
J. King made a motion the Board meet with the Building Inspector, Eleectrical
Inspector and Civil Defense Director as soon as possible relative to
construction work in basement of new Village Hall. Seconded by G. Beahm.
Motion declared carried.
G. Ansley made a motion to approve the Police Department orderding 3,000
rounds of ammunition at a cost of $33.50 per thousand ar a total of $100.50.
Seconded by G. Beahm. Vote by roll call: Beahm, aye; Robinson, aye; Ansley,
aye; King, aye; Selfridge, aye. Five ayes, na nays. Motion declared carried.
R. Selfridge made a motion to give authority to Police Department for
Solenoid latch far front entrance. Seconded by J. King, Motion declared carried.
R. Selfridge made a motion to approve seventh pay out to Grafic Designs, Inc.
in .-the amount of $7,320.00. Seconded by J. King. Vote by roll call: Beahm,
aye; Robinson, aye; Ansley, aye; King, aye; Selfridge, aye. dive ayes, no nays.
Motion .declared carried.
R. Selfridge made a motion that the new Village Hall is substantially
completed and accepted except for items listed with Architect and Contractor
to be completed. Seconded by G. Beahm. ,Vote by roll call: Beahm, aye;
Robinson, aye; Ansley, aye; King, aye; Selfridge, aye. Five ayes, no nays.
Motion declared carried.

L. Robinson made a motion to have Clerk purchase necessary insurance
for new Village Hall building and contents. Secanded by G, Ansley.
Vote by roll call: Beahm, aye; Robinson, aye;. Ansley, aye; King, aye;
Selfridge, aye. Five ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
R. Selfridge :made a motion the Civil Defense building and the old Village
Hall be torn, dawn and a parking lot be constructed on the site. Secanded
by J. King. Vote by tall call: Beahm, aye; Robinson, aye; Ansley, aye;
King, aye; Selfridge, aye. Five ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
The Clerk was given permission to attend a Clerk's seminar in Peoria
March 18th and 19th.
J. King made a motion to pass Resolution No.885R, "Approval of Prior Service",
Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund, Seconded by G. Ansley. Vote by roll call:
Beahm, aye; Robinson, aye; Ansley, aye; King, aye;. Selfridge, aye. Five ayes,
no nays. Motion declared carried.
L. Robinson made a motion to pass Ordinance No. 885., "Ordinance Setting
Regular Municipal Election April 19, 1977," Chapter 1, Article 3, Section
3-2 of the Code of Drdinances of the Village of Plainfield. Seconded by
G. Beahm. Vote by roll call: Beahm, aye; Robinson, aye; Ansley, aye; King,
aye; Selfridge, aye. Five ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
G. Beahm made a motion to authorize sign size variance (8' x 4') at
215 Naperville Road. Seconded by L. Robinson. Vote by roll call: Beahm, aye;
Robinson, aye; Ansley, aye; King, aye; Selfridge, aye. Five ayes, no nays.
Motion declared carried.
