A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING INTERGOVERNMENTAL COOPERATION
BETWEEN THE VILLAGE OF PLAINFIELD AND PLAINFIELD TOWNSHIP
REGARDING TRANSPORTATION ISSUES ALONG FEENEY DRIVE
WHEREAS the Village of Plainfield Transportation Plan calls for the extension of Feeney Drive
to align with Fraser Rd to the west; and,
WHEREAS the development proposed for the southeast corner of Feeney Drive, as extended, and
IL Rt. 59 would complete the extension of Feeney Drive to Rt. 59; and,
WHEREAS the Plainfield Township Road Commissioner and residents of Flai~eld Township
have expressed concerns that the extension would negatively impact their neighborhood; and,
WIIEREAS the Village of Plainfield hopes to promote a high quality of life in the area and
maintain a cooperative relationship with Plainfield Township.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ARESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
VILLAGE OF PLAINFIELD, WILL COUNTY, AS FOLLOWS:
1. The Village Police Department shall complete traffic counts along Feeney Drive using
the SMART unit to establish a current traffic volume count prior to completion of the
extension.
2. The Village Engineer shall obtain core samples of the existing street and provide the
administrator with an analysis of the design capacity of the street.
3. Weight limit signage shall be posted within the Village portions of Feeney Drive limiting
truck traffic consistent with Village policies.
4. The Village will assist the Township in determining proper stop sign locations along
Feeney Drive and will install said signage.
5. 25 mile per hour speed limit signage shall be posted by the Village.
6. The Village will continue to pursue signalization of the U.S. Rt. 30/L,ily Cache
intersection.
7. The Village mayenter into an intergovernmental agreement wide Plainfield township
authorizing and encouraging Village Police Officers to enforce traffic violations along
Feeney Drive.
