A RESOLUTION TEMPORARILY CLOSING A PORTION OF
U. S. ROUTE 30 IN THE VILLAGE OF PLAINFIELD
FOR THE PURPOSE OF HARVEST FEST
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 9 AT 6:00 A.M. THROUGH
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 10,199910:00 P.M. (so we have time to clean up)
WHEREAS, MainStreet Plainfield, Inc. desires to hold their Annual Harvest Fest
on a portion of U. S. Route 30 between Route S9 west to Fox River Street on Saturday,
October 9, 1999 at 6:00 a.m. through Sunday, October 10, 1999 10:00 p.m.; and,
WHEREAS, said Harvest Fest will require the closing of Route 30 completely
between the east junction with Illinois Route 59 and the west junction with Fox River
Street; and,
WHEREAS, the State of Illinois requires the Village to assume all responsibility
and liability involved in the closing of said highway.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND
BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF PLAINFIELD, WILL COUNTY,
ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
1. The Village of Plainfield will provide supervision for the direction,
protection and regulation of traffic during the time the detour is in effect
occasioned by the closing of said State Route, and usage of 143rd Street, a
Will County jurisdiction road.
2. It is further agreed that efficient, all weather detours will be maintained
conspicuously marked and judiciously police patrolled for the benefit of
traffic deviated from the State Route.
3. The alternate route will be to continue Route 30 North on Route 59 to
143rd Street, then west to Route 30. Detaur signs will be posted far both
northbound and southbound traffic.
