The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session in the office of said Board Monday, September 20, 1920 , at 9 A.M. All the members of the said Board being present , Messrs. Von Pein, Taylor, and Peltz , the following proceedings were had to-wit: 1/ The Board approved the petition of Win. A. Coning for permission to cut the curb for a 10 ft. driveway infront of Real Estate 2308 N. "I ' St. , all work to be done at the petitioner' s expense , and sub- ject to the inspection and approval of the City Engineer. The Board approved and signed the Bond & Contract of Daniel G. Burk- hardt , Contractor under Improvement Resolutions #580 & #581 - 1920. The Board approved and signed the Bond & Contract of Slattery & Larsen, Contractors for the reflooring of the Doran Bridge. Mr. Dillon, Supt. of the Light Plant , requested that the additional appropriations be made for. the M.E.L. w P.P. as follows: Repairs - "5,000.00 ; Office Expenses 6250.00; Meters 62,000.00; Sundry Equip. 5,000.00; and Miscellaneous 5,000.00. The Board instructed the City Controller to prerare an ordinance covering the above appropri- ations to present to Council. Mr. Peltz moved that the City Engineer instruct the Pittsburgh Test- ing Laboratory to make all tests on the Doran Bridge in regard to material to be used, also as to the cuality of the creosoting oils. Seconded by Mr. Taylor motion prevailed. The Board instructed the City Engineer to get about 200 posters printed of Sections 1 & 10 of the Garbage Ord. to be placed in the different business houses throughout the City . The Board received a petition from the International Harvester Co. signed by Willard Z . Carr for the vacation of an alley'=beginning at the southwest ' corner of lot five hundred_ and fifty-five ( 555) in Elizabeth Starr' s Addition to the City of Richmond , Indiana, in the north line of North "E" Street ; thence north to the northwest corner of Said lot; thence west to the northeast corner of lot five hundred and thirty-four ( 534) ; thence south to the southeast corner of said lot 534 in the north line of said North "E" Street ; thence east to the place of beginning." Referred to the City Engineer for papers. The Board received a petition from the International Harvester Co. I/ signed by Willard Z . Carr for the vacation of an alley described as follows to-wit : "All that part of the alley running north and south between North 15th Street and North 14th Street which lies between lots Five Hundred forty-one ( 541) to five hundred forty-four ( 544) inclusive on the west side , and lots five hundred forty-five ( 545) to five hundred forty-eight ( 548 ) inclusive , on the east side , all in that part of the City of Richmond , Indiana, laid out and platted by Elizabeth Starr." Referred to the City Engineer for papers. The Board received a petition from the International Harvester Co. signed by Willard Z. Carr for the vacation of an alley described as follows tc-wit : "Being that portion of the alley running north end 1.4 Monday, Sept . 20, 1920. south between North 12th & 'Borth 13th Streets in the City of Richmond , Indiana , situated between Blocks "C" and "D" in Elizabeth Starr' s Addition to the City of Richmond, Indiana , and further described as follows , to-wit : Beginning at the southwest corner of said Bloch: "D" in the north line of North "E" Street , running thence north along the west side of said Block "D" one hundred and fifteen ( 115 ) feet ; thence west to the east side of said Block "C"'; .then.ceeso th_ along: the east side of�•said;;Block,_.:"C' toJthe shut easU oorner..`_of said Block:. tGtr ; thenceipast.-t.or-the 'place, of_beginning. " Referred to the City . Engineer for papers. Bills to the mount of $8 ,395.69 were allowed and ordered paid. The Board approved the various payrolls up to Sept. 18th, 1920 . The Board unanimously adopted Declaratory i esoluti on 1;=140-1920 to vacate the alley between vacated N. 14th. St . & N. 15th St . in rear of lots •-534 and -L-555, Elizabeth Starr' s Add.. (See peso . ) The Board unanimously adopted Declaratory Resolution 1l41-1920 to vacate all that port of the alley riinr_ing north and south, between U . 14th & 15th Ste. which lies between lots - 541 to #544 inclusive on the west side , and lots -545 to „548 inclusive on the east side , Elizabeth Starr' s Add. ( See Resolution) . The Board unanimously adopted Declaratory Resolution ,`.142-1920 to vacate the alley between N. 12th & 13th Sts. situated between blocks "C" & "B" , Elizabeth Starr' s Add. ( See Resolution) .
