and after careful consideration Mr. Peitz moved that the bid-
of Slattery & Larsen of Nineteen Thousand Four Hundred Seventy-
five ($19 ,475.00) Dollars be accepted, and' that they be awarded
the contract. Seconded by Mr. Taylor motion prevailed.
Bills to the amount of $10,588.20 were allowed and ordered paid.
The Board approved the various payrolls up to September 1, 1920.
The Board then adjourned.

The Board of Public Works of the 0ity of Richmond, Indiana, met
- in the office of said Board Monday . , September 13, 1920 , at 9
A.M. All the members of the said Board being present Messrs.
Von Pein, Taylor,. and Peitz, the following proceedings were had
to-wit : - '
The Board unanimously adopted Improveinont Resolution #582-1920
to improve the property between Sir. 1st & SW." 2nd Sts. from the
let alley south" of Main St. to. rront St. by the construction of
a Sanitary Sewer as follows: Beginning at the sewer -in South-
west let street at Howard Street ; thence west in Howard Street
to the alley running north &south between South-west let and
South-west- 2nd Street ; thence north in said alley 133 feet: Al-
so south in said -alley 200 feet. .
The Board received a .letter from Gardner, Jessup, & Hoelscher,
Attys. ,-signed by Wilfred Jessup, in regard to the schedule of
rural rates established by the Public Service Commission for the
Municipal Electric Lighting & Power Plant with its minimum
charge of $2.50., which was referred to the Supt. of the Light
Plant to take up with Mr. Jessup. .
Mr. Peitz moved that the City Engineer attend the convention of
- . the American Society of Municipal Improvements to be held in St.
Louis, October 12th to 16th, his expenses to be paid by the City.
Seconded by Mr. Taylor motion prevailed. ,
- Mr. , Peitz moved that the City Atty. be instructed to prepare
papers to issue bonds for the improvement of the Light. Plant.
Seconded by Mr. Taylor motion prevailed.

The Board met to receive bids for the improvement of theMunici-
pal Electric Lighting & Power Plant by tearing down certain Malls
and the construction of certain new walls as follows to-wit: -
_ Wm. P. Hendrix bid :
Contract complete all according to-plans and specifications, all
brick walls above concrete footings,& Concrete footings complete
for the sum of 09 ,775.97
This does not include the taking out of the old cement footing if
stone is struck in -foundation. Time and material for that part
of the work, also old footing, or will superintend all work on
time and material for 10% of actual cost. I will accept this work
• of this contract if I get the rest of the *work on time and mater-
ial on 10%.
Burdsall & :Willett Co' s bid-:
Contract complete all according to plans & specifi cations. We pro-
pose to remove north wall in boiler room now standing and build
other walls as per plans, as follows ; the wall on west of boiler ro
• _ room to be brick of old brick now on lot , south wall of boiler room
laid up of old brick, with steel sash in same as shown, south wall
of coal room to be concrete faced with brick if desired and east
• will of boiler room to be concrete as shown, for the sum of, .Seven
.Thousand six hundred' ninty four dollars 07 , 694.00
Any addition al work to be done will agree to do same on cost plus
ten percent ( 10%) and we feel it will be cheaper for the board for
the above work to be done on the same plan.
_ After careful consideration of both bids Mr. Peitz moved that the
• bid.-Of Burdsall & Willett Co. of 4 7 , 69.4.00 be accepted, and they be
• awarded the contract. Seconded by Mr. Taylor motion prevailed.
