A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
AUTHORIZING STAFF TO SOLICIT BIDS FOR TIME AND ATTENDANCE
SOFTWARE
WHEREAS, on July 15, 2014, Council directed staff to research time and
attendance solutions for the City; and
WHEREAS, researched several solutions and reviewed the current payroll
process to identify procedures that could be streamlined to make the overall process
more efficient; and
WHEREAS, the City currently uses manual ti'mesheets and `Request for Time -
Off (i.e. vacation, personal, holiday) forms, which are signed by the employee and the
Department Head or designee; and
WHEREAS, City staff would like to eliminate the manual process of collecting
and processing timesheets.as well as requests for time off, which is inefficient and time
consuming; and
WHEREAS, the Human Resources Department is looking for more efficient ways
to manage leaves (i.e. FMLAs, attendance, sick leave abuse) on a real -time basis; and
WHEREAS, City staff would like to solicit bids for a time and attendance software
solution; and
WHEREAS,, in accordance with Lynwood Municipal Code Section 6 -3.7,
purchases of supplies, equipment and routine services in excess of fifteen thousand
dollars ($15,000.00) shall be by formal competitive bid.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the City Council authorizes staff to solicit bids for a time and
attendance software solution.
Section 2. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its
adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 19th day of August, 2014.
