The Board of Public `corks of the City of Richmond, Indiana , met in
regular, session in the office of said Board Thursday, September 9,
1920 , at 9 A.M. All the members of the said Board bei ng present .
. Messrs. Von Fein, Taylor, and Peitz , the following proceedi ngs were
had -to-w t : -
The Board approved the Pri mary Assessment :Roll in the matter- of
Improvement Resolution -572-1919 providing for the improvement of
North 23rd. St. by constructing cement curb & gutter, and grading &
graveling the roadway from North "E" to North "r1 Street .
The Board met to hear remonstrances if any of persons primarily
assessed on account of the improvement of North side of North "D"
St. by constructing cement curb & gutter from North llth to North
• 12th St. under improvement Resolution 579-1920. No one appearing
or remonstrating the Board approved the Final Assessment Roll con-
firming in all things the Original Assessment Roll as heretofore
approved, and now direct that the same be transmitted forthwith to
the Dept. of Finance. • -
• Mr. Felts moved that Henry H. Runge, A. I.Gregg, & Evan J. and
Veronica Smith be assessed Twenty (020.00) Dollars each for the
privilege of tapping into the sewer on south "J" Street running
from 1st alley west of South 7th to the east side of South 7th St.
Seconded by Mr. Taylor motion prevailed.
The Board approved the petition of Chas. Zuttermeister •for per-
mission to lay under private contract a cement alley in the rear
of lot 220 Elizabeth Starr' s Add.. , between 10th & llth Street from
"A" to "B", subject to the inspection and approval bf -the City Eng.
The -Board received a petition for the passage of a Resolution prow
• viding for a Sanitary Sewer in Howard Street , thence north in alley
between• SW. 1st & SW. 2nd Streets, also south in alley- between SW.
-1st & - SW. 2nd Street signed by B.J.Anderson and three ( 3) others. •
Referred, to the City Engineer for papers.
- The Board received a letter from G. K. Jeffrey, Gen. Supt. of the
T.H.I. & E. Traction Co. in regard to the re-laying of the Company' s
tracks on the Doran Bridge. Which was ordered placed on file.
The Board received a letter• from G. J . Derbyshire, Gen. Supt. of the
C. & G. of Ind. in regard to the dumping of rubbish on their property
on South 94Z" Street, which was referred to the City Engineer.
The Board received a communication from the Rodefeld I�:�fg. Co. asking
for permission to install a gasoline pump infront of their place of
business at 96 West Main Street. Mr. Pelts moved that on account of
the location it would be a hazardous propositi on, and for that rea-
son the request must be refused. Seconded by Mr. Taylor motion pre-
vailed.
The Clerk presented complaints from Council of Tuesday, Septem-
ber 7th , which were referred to* the City Engineer.

The Board -took up the bids for the re-flooring of the Doran Bridge,
0 - Thursday, September 9th, 1920.
and after careful consideration Mr. Peitz moved that the bid
of Slattery & Larsen of Nineteen Thousand Pour Hundred Seventy-
five (019 ,475.00) Dollars be accepted, and' that they be awarded
the contract. Seconded by Mr. Taylor motion prevailed.

Bills to the amount of 010,588.20 were allowed and ordered paid.
The Board approved the various payrolls up to September 1, 1920.
The Board then adjourned.

The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met •
- in the office of said Board Monday . , September 13, 1920 , at 9
A.M. All the members of the said Board being present Messrs.
Von Pein, Taylor,. and Peitz,. the following proceedings were had
to-wit : - '
The Board unanimously adopted Improveinont Resolution #582-1920
to improve the propertyb"etween SW. 1st & SW. 2nd Sts. from the
lst alley south of Main St. .to. Front St. by the construction of
a Sanitary Sewer as follows: - Beginning at the sewer in South-
west 1st street at Howard Street ; thence west in Howard Street
to the alley running north & south between South-west 1st and
South-west- 2nd Street ; thence north in said alley 133 feet Al
so south in said -alley 200 feet. •
The Board received a letter from Gardner, Jessup, & Hoelscher,
Attys. , signed by Wilfred Jessup, in regard to the schedule of
rural rates established by the Public Service Commission for the
Municipal Electric Lighting, & Power Plant with its minimum
charge of 0 2.50., which was referred to the Supt. of the Light
Plant to take up with Mr. Jessup.
Mr. Peitz moved that the City Engineer attend the convention of
- the American Society of Municipal Improvements to be held in St.
Louis, October 12th to 16th, his expenses to be paid by the City.
Seconded by Mr. Taylor motion prevailed.
- Mr. Peitz moved that the City Atty. be instructed to prepare
papers to issue bonds for the improvement of the Light. Plant.
Seconded by Mr. Taylor motion prevailed.
