Mon. Aug. 30, 1920.
The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in
regular session in the office of said Board Monday, August 30, 1920
at 9 A.M. All the members of the said Board being present Messrs.
_ Von Pein, Taylor, and Peitz the following proceedings were had to-
wit : -
The Board approved and allowed the bill of the Smith-Osborn Coal
I/ ' Sales Co. of 05,933.74. _
The Board directed the Finance Dept. to pay the following contract-
or the 5% reserve retained on the following improvements:
Daniel G. Burkhardt
Resolution No. 562-1919 , amount 0 116.56
el ' 567-1919 , tr 95.13
A committee of citizens appeared before the Board and suggested
that the Safety Zone Signs be changed in some way so that the Public
can better under stand them. Mr. Peitz moved that the Engineering
Dept. have a hand painted or otherwise placed upon said signs point-
ing in the direction of the Safety_Zone. Seconded by Mr. Taylor
so ordered.
Mr. Peitz moved that the Board recommend to Council that the Traffic
Ordinance be amended to read to prohibit any one upon conviction of
the violation of said ordinance from driving a car a certain number
of days, and the number of days to be increased with each offence.
Seconded by Mr. Taylor motion prevailed.
The Board instructed the Clerk to advertise for bids according to
plans and specifications submitted by the City Engineer for the re-
building of the boiler room at the Light Plant.
The Board then adjourned.
