RESOLUTION NO 1166
A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING EOLA-HEGGS, STEWART AND RIDGE ROAD AS
THE NORTH-SOUTH WIKADUKE/BRA ALIGNMENT.
WHEREAS: The proposed Fox Valley Freeway Study for a major North-South limited access
highway serving, the Western Will County, Eastern Kane County, Western
DuPage County and Eastern Kendall County Region has been discontinued; and
WHEREAS: The need far a Narth-South Strategic Regional Arterial route to partially offset the
transportation demands along this corridor is recognized; and
WHEREAS: Ta partially satisfy the growing transportation demands slang this and other
corridors, the WIKADUKE consortium, consisting of representatives of the state,
counties, municipalities, and other local governments in the comdor region in Will,
Kane, DuPage and Kendall Counties, was organized to propose solutions to
address these demands; and
WHEREAS: Early in the process an alignment along County Line Road was selected for study,
however, during the course of this study development pressures, boundary
discussions, and coordination of land use planning issues now point to a more
westwardly alignment; and
WHEREAS: An alignment along Eola-Heggs, Stewart, and Ridge Road would build on existing
paved right-of--way along a natural drainage break; and
WHEREAS: It appears an alignment along the Eola-Heggs, Stewart, and Ridge Road corridor
is a mare economical option than using County Line Road's; and
WHEREAS: It is the consensus of the WIKADUKE communities that the Eola-Heggs, Stewart,
and Ridge Road alignment is the preferred North-South WII~ADUKE/BRA Route.
