'Regular Meeting
DATE: April 5, 1976 AT: Village Hall
MEMBERS OF BOARD PRESENT: Complete Board present
President Pottorff called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. with the
Pledge to the Flag. Roll call was taken. All members of the Board were
present.
R. Selfridge made a motion to approve minutes of the previous meetings
as corrected. Seconded by G. Ansley. Motion carried.

G. Ansley made a motion to approve payment of the current invoices and
authorize eliminating collision coverage on Units Nos. 1, 5 and 6 of
Hartford Policy 4~82C283333. Seconded by G, Beahm. Vote by roll call:
Beahm, aye; Robinson, aye; Ansley, aye; Judy, aye; Selfridge, aye. Five
ayes, no nays, -Madan carried.
G. Beahm made a motion to have engineer put out for. bid pavin~:.o.f--Ot~awa~.Street
from Division to James Street, bituminous concrete overlay, prime coat,
manhole adjustments and storm drain for Hazelcrest Drive. Seconded by
S. Judy. Vote by roll call: Beahm, aye; Robinson, aye; Ansley, aye;
Judy, aye; Selfridge, aye. Five ayes, no nays. Motion carried.
At 8:00 p.m. the Clerk read the following bids: (New Village Hall Improvements)
T & R Construction Company.
Aurora, Illinois.
Certified Check - $4,000.00
Total Bid - $37,711.20
Crown-Trygg Corporation
Joliet, Illinois
Cashier's Check - $4,420.00
Total Bid - $43,204.99
Action was tabled by Board momentarily in order that Village Engineer could
check validity of bids.
R. Selfridge made a motion to accept the low bid of T & R Construction.
Seconded by L. Robinson. Vote by roll call: Beahm, aye; Robinson, aye;
Ansley, aye; Judy, aye; Selfridge, aye. Five ayes, no nays. Motion carried.
May 2 thru May $ was proclaimed Civil Defense Week in the Village of Plainfield.
G. Ansley made a motion to have Village Attorney draw up Resolutions for

Whispering Creek Special Water & Sewer Assessments. Seconded by G. Beahm.
Vote by roll call: .Beahm, aye; Robinson, aye;. Ansley, aye; Judy, aye;
Selfridge, aye. Five ayes, no nays. Motion carried.
A special meeting was scheduled by the Board of Local Improvements for
Wednesday; April 7, 1976 at the Village Ha11 at 5:30 p.m. for consideration
of Special Assessment Resolutions and business pertaining to same.
Mike Hamm was present representing Armco Steel relative to Armco truss pipe.
Board agreed to give permission for Village Engineer to specify plastic
sewer pipe in specifications for bids for Whispering Creek Subdivision.
Plan Commission Reports were submitted.
Board approved the recommendation of appointments of Arthur Bruesewitz
and Vito Sebastiano with Sherry Pennington as alternate to Plan Commission
and Zoning Board of Appeals.
President Pottorff appointed Lorin Robinson as Ex-officio member of Plan
Commission from Village Board of Trustees.
G. Ansley made a motion to accept recommendation of Plan Commission to
rezone property at 604~tlames Street from Res. B to A-1. Seconded by G.
Beahm. Vote by roll call: Beahm, aye; Robinson., aye; Ansley, aye;
Judy, aye; Selfridge, aye. Five ayes, no nays. Motion carried.
Board agreed to grant permission to Bi-Centennial Committee to move
Ft. Beggs Monument from parkway area on Plaza Drive Extension onto
High School Property.
A letter announcing the formation of the Plainfield Township Citizens'
Committee was read.
S. Judy made a motion to grant the request of The First Baptist Church
to waive vehicle sticker fee of $10.00 for Church Buses. Seconded by
G. Ansley. Motion carried.
A letter of Resignation as Substitute Building Inspector was read from
Guy Beahm.
