FLAINFIELD VILLAGE BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEETING
Regular Meeting
DATE: August 5, 1974 AT: Village Hall
MEMBERS OF BOARD PRESENT: Complete Board present
President Pottorff called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. with the
Fledge to the Flag. Roll call was taken. All members of the Board
were present.
On motion by W. Rahn minutes of the previous meetings were approved as
corrected. Seconded by H. Gehrke. Motion carried.
L. Taylor made a motion to pay the current invoices. Seconded by W. Rahn.
All ayes, no nays. Motion carried.
The fallowing bids were opened for gas, oil and maintenance of Village
vehicles:
Allen Hall: Gas, 3~ per gallon discount, 5~ off State Tax
Minor repairs - 24 hr. towing & road service
James Chobar: Gas 3~~ per gallon discount off pump price
Oil - 5G per quart
Lube greasing, repairs, road service & towing
service, washing - all current and competitive
prices
L. Taylor made a motion to accept the bid of James Chobar for gas, oil, etc.
for Village vehicles. Seconded by W. Rahn. Vote by roll call: Rahn, aye;
Gehrke, aye; Ansley, aye; L. Taylor, aye; G. Taylor, abstain; Selfridge, aye.
Five ayes, one abstain. Motion carried.
The following bids were opened far a truck for the Water & Sewer Department:
Coffman Brothers, Aurora - $5,604.52
Hamilton Chevrolet-Oldsmibile $5,736.00
L. Taylor made a motion to accept the bid of Coffman Brothers far a truck for
the Water & Sewer Department at $5,604,52. Seconded by G. Taylor. All ayes,
no nays, Motion carried.

L. Taylor made a motion to amend Ghapter..9, Article 8, Codification of
Ordinances, establishing that school buses and trucks using Village
Streets in their course of business purchase Village stickers. Seconded
by W. Rahn. Vote by roll call: Rahn, aye; Gehrke, nay; Ansley, nay;
T... Taylor, aye; G. Taylor, aye; Selfridge, nay; Pottorff, aye. four ayes,
three nays. Motion carried.
R. Selfridge made a motion to Pass Ordinance No. 784, An Ordinance Looking
to Eminent Domain Proceedings. (Chapter 9, Article 13 of Codification of
Ordinances) Seconded by W. Rahn. Vote by roll call: Rahn, aye; Gehrke, aye;
Ansley, aye; L. 'Taylor, nay; G. Taylor, abstain; Selfridge, aye. Four ayes,
one nay, one abstain.. Motion carried.
G. Ansley made a motion to purchase a typewriter for the Village office.
Seconded by H. Gehrke. Motion carried.
Convention Committee announced the following allowances for those attending
the Illinois Municipal League Convention: $13.00 per day for meals, parking,
15G per mile mileage, average price per room for the area. Spouses are
not to be covered by expenses allowed.
Richard Leidig was appointed Chairman of the Zoning Board of Appeals.
