Gentlemen: I notice by this mornings Item that they again make ref- erence to an alleged offer of 02.80 coal being made to the City sometime last Spring. We have no record of such an offer in this ' office, nor has the writer any recollection of such a proposal being made verbally. Neither do I believe that such a proposition was extended to any individual member of the- Beard, nor fro you as a body. I would like to ask that the Board of Works demand the name of the person who made the alleged offer and the date of such offer. It seems to me that we have about reached the stage where we shouls call for a "show-down" on this - "somebody told me so" propaganda. Yours very truly, J.P.Dillon. Supt.
