The Board instructed the O'erh to notify Bcel.thoff, and i=ett

The Board received a petition for the passage of a resolution -;Dro-
vidinz for the improvemcnt of the alley between Lincoln & Pearl
Streets from NW. 1st St . to NU . Zrd , sfF:ned by Alfred. Lahan, and
28 others. l',eferred to the City .;24nL-ineer fcr plans and papers.
The Board took up the bids rece:Ived July 15th for coal for the M.E.
L. L P.P. , and City Bldg. , and rejected the 'Did of the ilichmond

Coal Co. Mr. Peitz moved that tl'-e bid of the Smith-Osborn
Coal sales Co. for 25,000 tons of coal for the M.L.L. & P.Y .
be accepted, and the Board a ree to si rn the same contract
that the Smith-Osborn Coal Sales Co. sigh with the operator
and miners. deco i ed by 1':r. Taylor motion prevailed.
The Board instructed the Clerk to advertise for 25,000 tons of
Steam Coal for the M.E.L. & P.P., nut and slack or mine run,
to be delivered within the next six ( 6 ) months . Analysis of 11/
the coal to be submitted ith each bid. F.O.B. Mines.
The Board instructed the City LnF-i veer to have a sign placed at
the corner of U. 5th & Main Bts. designating the way to the
National _load
Mr. Peitz moved to allow Fire Chief Miller to attend the Natl.
Convention of Fire Chiefs to be held in Toronto, Canada, from
the 26th to the 30th of July, 1920 , the City to pay his ex-
penses. Seconded by ivir. Ta ,for so ordered .
Mr. Dillon, Supt. of the Li_:1=t Plat , filed with the Board
written reports that he purchased on July 17th, 1920, ten ( 10)
cars of first quality r5 nut and slack coal from the Smith-
Osborn Coal Sales Co. , and 5 cars Indiana Mine nun, and 2 cars
Indiana Br g Coal fromthe Tiger Coal& Supply Co. ,and on the 16th
day of July ten ( 10) cars of Winch Indiana Lump Coal from the
Tiger Coal & Supply Co. , also one ( 1) car of Illinois :Nut Coal.
