MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF ASSESSORS

Remote Participants: Chair Howard Hayes, Member Susan Barker, Deputy Assessor James
Gallagher, Senior Department Assistant Sara Acheson
Call to Order: Mr. Hayes called the meeting to order at 4:41pm.
Declaration of a Quorum: A quorum was present. All members were participating remotely
and confirmed that they could hear each other.
Meeting Participation Statement: Mr. Gallagher read the following meeting participation
statement: This meeting will be conducted by remote participation pursuant to Chapter 20 of the
Acts of 2021. No in-person meeting attendance will be permitted. If the Town is unable to live
broadcast this meeting, a record of the proceedings will be provided on the Town website as
soon as possible.
Mr. Gallagher was monitoring the public comment/question email address and confirmed that no
questions or comments had been received.
Report of the Deputy.Assessor:
FY22 Second half tax bills were issued, due May 1St. FY22 Personal Exemptions were
due April 1St. FY23 Personal Exemptions will start being accepted July 1, 2022. Motor
Vehicle Excise Commitment 2 was issued, due May 2°a. 3ABC's and Forms of List for
Businesses were due March 1St, Income and Expense forms will continue to be accepted.
Review and approve regular session meeting minutes: February 1, 2022
No action at this time.
Rescind Motor Vehicle Excise Abatement (2022 Bill #2263)
Mr. Hayes made a motion to rescind the abatement, Ms. Barker seconded the motion. Roll Call
vote: Hayes- aye.; Barker- aye; motion approved unanimously.
Matters Not Reasonably Anticipated by the Chair:
None at this time.
Next Meeting: The next Board of Assessors meeting will be targeted for the end of May or
beginning of June.

Executive Session (To comply with or act under the authority of any general or special law or
federal grant-in-aid requirements: MGL Chap 59 Sec. 60 and MGL Chap. 214 Sec. 1B):
At 4:47pm Mr. Hayes moved to enter Executive Session for the reasons noted above, not to
return to regular session. Ms. Barker seconded the motion. Roll Call vote: Hayes- aye; Barlcer-
aye; motion approved unanimously.
