The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond , Indiana , met in regular session in the office of the said Board Thursday, June 3, 1920, at 9 A.M. All the members of the said Board being pre- - sent Messrs. Gilbert , Taylor, and I'e11tz the following proceedings were had to-wit :I/ - - The City 'Atty. was instructed to prepare an ordinance to present to Council making an appropriation for the necessary expenses _for the employment of an engineer to compile data to be presented at the hearing of the Richmond Light, Heat to Power Company before the - Public Service Commission for the re-valuation of their property in the City of Richmond, Indian . The Board received from Morris Knowles, Engineers, Pittsburgh, Pa. estimates as to the cost of One 5000 K.W. turbo generator, or Two 3000 V.W. generators which was ordered placed on file. The City Atty. vas instructed to draw up an ordinance to present to the Common Council authorizing a Bond Issue of Two Hundred Seventy-five Thousand (e2759000.00 ) Dollars for improvements at the Light Plant. The Board agreed to rent the 2nd Floor of the South 6th St. Engine House to Mr. Wessel for the sum of Five ( 5.00) Dollars per month for a term not to exceed ninety (90 ) days. The City Atty. was instructed to prepare an ordinance to be pre- sented to the Common Council making an appropriation of Six Thou- sand Five Hundred ($6,500.00) Dollars for the installation of the lighting system on the Main Street Bridge. The Board received a complaint in regard to boys climbing trees, and damaging City property in the South 7th St. Park which was re- ferred to Mr. Hollarn, Supt. of Parks. The Clerk was instructed to advertise for bids for the following improvements Nos. 569-1919 , 575-1920 , & 578-1920 . The Board recommended to the Common Council that the platoon Sys- tem be installed in the City Fire Dept. to be effective Aug. 1st , 1920 , and an ordinance be passed transferring the necessary amount from the City' s Parts of Streets & Alleys Acct. to the Fire Dept . Pay Roll as prepared by the City Controller. The Board instructed the Street Commissioner to buy a 5 Western Railroad Plow of the Austin-Western Road Machinery Co. of Chicago , Illinois for the sum of $41.70. The Board decided that all petitions for the oiling of streets must be in by July 10th, and instructed the City Engineer to or- der another 10,000 gallon car of Tarvia"B".
