PLAINFIELD VILLAGE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
Regular Meeting
DATE: October 15, 1979 AT: Village Hall
MEMBERS DF BOARD PRESENT: President Selfridge, Trustees G.
Ansley, J. King, D. Rife, L. Rob-
inson.
President Selfridge called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.
with the pledge to the flag. Roll ca1X was taken, Trustees
J. D'Axcy and S. Yates were absent.
J. King made a motion to approve current invoices for pay-
ment as presented. Seconded by D. Rife. Vote by roll call:
G. Ansley, aye; J. King, aye; D. Rife, aye; L. Robinson, aye.
Four ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
President Selfridge read a letter from David HesXinga recom-
mending the retainage being held back on Bada Construction
Company for the Trinity Midwest Corporation sanitary sewer
and water main extension be reduced to $5,000.00. After the
Board`s discussion, and Mr. Bada promised to replant the wil-
low trees that did not grow, D. Rife made a motion to retain
$600.00. Seconded by L. Robinson. Vote be roll call:
G. Ansley, aye; J. King, aye; D. Rife; L. Robinson, aye. Four
ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
D. Rife made a motion to approve recommendation of Zoning
Board of Appeals pertaining to Case #83-92579v - Ralph Bada,
12 Penn Road, parking lot retaining wall to be elevated same
as sidewalk. Seconded by J. King. Vote by roll call;
G. Ansley, aye; J. King, aye; D. Rife, aye; L. Robinson, aye.
Four ayes. no nays. Motion declared carried.
Adoption of the new Building Code, tabled to next meeting.
Adoption of the new Plumbing Code, tabled to next meeting.
Case #52-41178AZ - Mothers Mill Subdivision, tabled to next
meeting.
Case #84-925789FP - Lakeside Manor subdivision, tabled to
next meeting.
At 8:00 p.m. a bid was xead for Village vehicles servicing,
gas, oil and repairs. Dave's S'e'rvice Centex; xegular - 89.6
cents pex gallon; unleaded - 93..8 cents per gallon: oil -
$1.40 & X.50 .per quart with $.40 discount .per quart. Labor
rate at this time is $25.00 pex hour, they. will give the'

Village a $7.00 per hour discount.
J. King made a motion to accept bid from Dave's Service Centex.
Seconded by L. Robinson. Vote by roll call: G. Ansley, aye;
J. King, aye; D. Rife, nay; L. Robinson, aye; R. Selfridge, aye.
Four ayes and one nay. Motion declared carried.
Bids were read for two police Squad cars:
Village Pontiac $13,718.00 $6,859.00 per car
Hamilton Chev. -Olds. $I3,370.0~ $6,685.00 per car
Rod Baker Ford $13,481.96 $6,740.98 per car
Vidmar Buick $14,716.00 $7,358.00 per car
J. King made a motion to accept the bids. Seconded by D. Rife.
J. King made a motion to evaulate the bids and. report to the
Board next meeting. (No second)
J. King made a motion to se11 the two 3M copy machines to the
highest biddex. Seconded by L. Robinson. Vote by ro11 call:

During the Water and Sewer Committee report, L. Robinson in-
formed the Board of the status of Ordinance #901. Particularly
the section regarding tap-on fees has come under question lately.
Tap-on fees have been charged according to the rate established
by the old Ordinance prior to ordinance #90Z. The office staff
was unaware that the method of figuring the fees had changed
with the adoption of Ordinance #901 in December, 1977. After
much discussion, the general concensus of the Board was to im-
plement Ordinance #90I as written.
D. Rife made a motion to instruct the Village Engineer to apply
for $12,000.00 from Motor Fuel Tax for Snow Removal. Seconded
by G. Ansley. Vote by roll call: G. Ansley, aye; J. King, aye;

declared carried.
At 9:40 p.m. President Selfridge continued the meeting to
Monday, October 22, 1979 at 7:00 p.m.
