Towle, Alfred Dunham, & Larson Mills. The Board took this matter under advisement. Mr. Miller, Fire Chief, reported to the Board that Street Cars are jumping the track at the switch at the corner of 5th Main and tearing up the bricks on -North 5th Street. The City Engineer was instructed to take this matter up with Supt. Gor- don of the Street Car Co. at once. The Board then adjourned. Pres. of the Board. Richnnd, Indiana, met in regular sessi on in the office of said Board Thursday, May 13, 1920 , at 9 A.M. All the members of the said Board being pre- sent Messrs. Gilbert, Taylor, and Peitz the following proceed- ings were had to-wit:- - - The Board received the following communication: 5/10/20. Board of Public Works, City of Richmond, Ind. Gentlemen: This is to advise that I. hereby withdraw all propositions made or• pertaining to the sale of my property at 96 W. Main St. , this city. Yours truly, A. H. Rodefeld,Sr. The Clerk was instructed to write to the Secty. of the Chautau- qua Association notifying him that as the association' s contract has expired, proper officials of the association should appear before the Board in regard to renewing same. The Board received bids for the improvem nt of the 1st alley south of W. Main from W. 1st St. to W. 2nd St. under Improve- ment Resolution No. 574-1920 as follows to-wit : Daniel G. Burkhardt' s bid: Cement roadway complete, per square Ft. t0.291 Thursday, May 13, 1920. 439 No other bids being received and Er. Burkhardt's bid being with- in the estimate of the City Engineer Mir. Taylor moved that the bid be accepted and the contract awarded to Mr. Burkhardt. second- ed by Mr. Peitz so ordered. The Board received bids for the improvement of North 23rd Street from North "E" St. to North- "F" St. under Improvement Resp lution No. 572-1919, as follows to-wit :- .F. E,. Slick' s bid.:I/ Street complete per Linear Ft. 0 8.99 Daniel G. Burkhardt' s bid : Street complete per Linear Ft. 4'12.80 Mr. Peltz moved that as Mr. Slick' s bid was within the City Eng. estimate and being the lowest bid that it be accepted, and the contract so awarded. Seconded by Mr. Taylor so ordered. The Board met to receive bids for the privilege & right to sell refreshments and of letting boats to hire in Glen Miller Park from November. 1st, 1920 to November lst, 1925, limited by and subject to the right of the Richmond .Chautauqua Association as set forth in a contract between such association and the City of Richmond: Bent. F. Williams' let bid: Refreshment & Boating Privileges, per year, $601.10 Benj . F.-Williams' 2nd bid: As a sec..hd bid or �roposi.ti on to the City of Richmond, agrees to erect a brick and concrete shelter house and refreshment stand at the east entrance to the Chautauqua Grounds in said Glen Mi1- ler Park, the same to replace the frame stand at such point , and to be built upon plans and specifications drawn by Roy Fryar, and - now on file with the Board of Works of said city, in considera- tion- that said city. shall grant him the refreshment and boat=1et- ting privilege in said Glen Miller Park for a period of twelve years commencing November 1st, 1920, at a rental of Five Hundred One Dollars per year, 0501.00 Frank Crump' s bid: Refreshment & Boating privileges per year, 0615.00 Mr. Taylor moved that as Mr. Crump' s bid was the highest and best bid that it be accepted and he awarded the privileges, and the City Atty. be instructed to prepare a contract in duplicate form.
