Regular Meeting
DATE: August 6, 1979 AT: Village Hall
Mk~'IBERS OF BOARD PRESENT: R. Selfridge, President; Trustees, G. Ansley,
D. Rife, L. Robinson. Trustees, J. D'Arcy,
J. King and S. Yates were' absent.
President Selfridge called the-meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. with the
pledge to the flag. Roll call was taken. Trustees, J. D'Arcy, J. King
and S. Yates were absent.
G. Ansley made a motion. to approve minutes of July 2, July 16 and July
31, 1979 as printed. Seconded by D. Rif e. Motion declared carried.
D. Rife made a motion to table action on Case No. 53--4 2 57 9AZ, River
Ridge Estates Annexation Agreement until next Board meeting. Seconded
by L. Robinson. Vote by roll call: Ansley, aye; Rif e, aye; Robinson,
aye; Selfridge, aye. Four ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
D. Rife made a motion to concur with recommendation of Plan Commission
to approve final plat of Lakeside Manor Subdivision. Seconded. by G. ..
Ansley.. Va.te by roll call: Ansley, aye; Rife,::aye; Robinson, aye;
Selfr idge, aye. Four ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
There was general discussion relative to the 24 parking spaces for
Ralph Bada's 12-unit apartment building, Penn Road. It was generally
agreed Mr. Bada would return to Plan Commission for consideration.
~,. Robinson made a motion to authorize Joe Bennett to attend the
Illinois Water Supply Convention in Spr ingf field, September 12 thru 14
at a cost of $183.00. Seconded by D. Rif e. Vote by roll call: Ansley,
aye; Rif e, aye; Robinson, aye; Selfridge, aye. Four ayes, no nays.
Motion declared carried.
G. Ansley made a motion to authorize D. Rife to have 800 feet of roadway
within Village limits on Frederick Street improved along with The Township
and to conf orm with rest of road. Seconded by L. Robinson. Vote by
roll call: Ansley, aye; Rif e, aye; Robinson, aye; Selfridge, aye. Four
ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
D. Rife made a motion to hire Barbara Higdon in the Clerk's off ice at
a starting salary of $3.80 per hr. as soon as she is available. Seconded
by G. Ansley. Vote by roll call: Ansley, aye; Rif e, aye; Robinson, aye;
Selfridge, aye.. Four ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
G. Ansley made a motion to pass Resolution No. 790, exempting S. Hartong

Warrant No. 1066. Seconded by D, Rife. Vote by roll call: Ansley, aqe;

declared carried.
G. Ansley made a motion to purchase a storage building far the Village Hall
with concrete slab at a cost of $120.00 anal building at a cost of $499.00.
Total cast to be $6].9.00. Seconded by D. Rif e. Vote by roll call: Ansley,
aye; Rif e, aye; Robinson, aye; Selfridge, aye. Four ayes, no nays. Motion
declared carried.
G. Ansley made a motion the Planner be retained at the CETA .figure of $4.80
per hr. until salary, retroactive to August 1, may be taken into consideration
before full board. Seconded by L. Robinson. Vote by roll call: Ansley, aye;
Rif e, aye; Robinson, aye; Selfridge, aye. Four ayes, no nays. Motion
declared carried..
