Motion seconded by Lir. Taylor.
The above motion on .nd resolution sas thereupon put to a
vote and was adopted by the unanimous vote of said Board.

The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met
in regular session- in the office of said Board Thursday, May 6,
1920 , at 9 A.M. All the members of the said Board being pre-
sent Messrs. Gilbert, Taylor, and Peitz, the following proceed-
ings were had to-wit: -

- The Board met to hear all persons interested 'in- or whose pro-
perty is affected by the construction of cement roadway .in the
- alley running north and south between South 3rd & 4th Street,
- from South "C" to South "D" . Street by grading and paving the
alley With-concrete, under Improvement Resolution 577-1920. No
one appearing or remonstrating the Board decided that the bene-
fits to property liable to be assessed for said improvement are
equal to the cost of same as reported by the City Engineer, and
thereupon take Final Action on said resolution, the same being
confirmed without modification, and the Clerk instructed to ad-
vertise
for bids.
The Board received a remonstrance against the improvement of
South "E" Street under Improvement Resolution 578-1920 signed
by W. P. Robinson. The Board ordered same placed on file until
the day of hearing against said improvement.

The Board ^ranted Teresa Buemi permission to lay under private
contract a sidewalk 12' ft in width and 161 ft in length infront
of Lot #8 , Highland lidd. , on Horth 19th St . subject to the ap-

The Board instructed the Supt. of the M.E.L. &J P.P. to purchase
a 550 gallon gasoline emergency storage tank.
Mr. Pelts moved that all bids received April 22nd, 1920, for
motor fire truck be rejected. Seconded by Mr. Taylor so ordered.
Bills to the amount of 013,688.19 were allowed and ordered paid.
_ The Board approved the various pay rolls up to May 1st, 1920.
The Board then adjourned.

The Board of Public Works of- the City of Richmond, Indiana, met
in regular `session in, the office of said Board Monday, May 10th ,
1920, at 9 A. I. All the members of the said Board being present
Messrs. Gilbert , Taylor, and Peitz, the following proceedings
were had to-wit :-
The Board received a communication signed by Wilfred Jessup,Atty.
in regard to a clogged sewer in the alley running north & south,
north from South "A" St. between 9th & 10th Streets. Referred to
the City Engineer.

The Treasury Department has awarded the contract for removing
ashes from the Post Office Building, this city, to your Board, for
the fiscal year 1921, commencing July 1, 1920 and ending 'June 30,
1921, at 02.00 per cubic yard.

The Board received a complete report from the Chautauqua Assembly
for the year 1919 signed by F. F. Riggs, Secty. of the Asso. The
Board instructed the Clerk to hunt up the Chautauqua Asso. contract
and present same ,t next meeting.
Howard Dille Supt. of the Richmond City Water Works Company present
ed to the Board a petition filed with the Water Works Co. for a
20 lronday , May 10th, 1920.
water main to be laid in Harris Street from Maple Street to
1221 Harris Street signed by Chas. N. Towle, Alfred Dunham, &
'Jenson Mills. The Board took this matter under advisement.
Mr. Miller, Fire Chief, reported to the Board that Street Cars
are jumping the track at the switch at the corner of 5th &
Main and tearing up the bricks on North 5th Street. The City
Engineer was instructed to take this matter up with Supt. Gor-
don of the Street Car Co. at once.
The Board then adjourned.
