Regular Meeting
RATE: July 2, 1979
MFM BERS OF BOARD PRESENT: R.. Selfr idge, President; Trustees, G. Ansley,
J. D"Arty, D. Rif e, L. Robinson, 5. Yates
were present. Trustee, J. King was absent.
President Selfridge called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. with the
pledge to the flag, Ro11 call was taken, Trustee J. King was absent,
D. Rife made a motion to approve minutes of June 4 and June 18, 1979 as
printed. Seconded by L, Robinson. Motion declared carried..
J. D'Arcy made a motion to authorize ESDA to purchase a 100 f t self -
supporting tower with trade in of the old tower, total cost to be $600.00.
Seconded by L. Robinson, Vote by roll call: Ansley, aye; D'Arcy, aye;
Rif e, aye; Robinson, aye; Yates, aye. Five ayes, no nays. Mation declared
carried..
J. D'Arcy made a motion to pass Ordinance Na. 947, "An Ordinance Authorizing
Northern Illinois Gas Company to Construct, Operate and Maintain A Gas
Distributing System In and Through The Village of Plainfield," Chapter 4,
Article 9, Sec. 9-1 of the Codified Ordinances of the Village of Plainfield.
Seconded by D. Rife. Vote by roll call: Ansley, aye; D'Arcy, aye; Rif e,
aye; Robinson, aye; Yates, aye. Five ayes, no nays. Motion declared
carried.
D. Rife made a motion to pass Ordinance No. 948, "An Ordinance Establishing
A Speed Limit Of Thirty-Five Miles Per Hour On Lackport Road," Chapter 9,
Article 5, Section 5-5-1 (g) of the Codified Ordinances of the Village of
Plainf field. Seconded by G. Ansley, Vote by roll call: Ansley, aye; D'Arcy,
aye; Rif e, aye; Robinson, aye; Yates, aye. Five ayes, no nays. Motion
declared carried.
S. Yates made a motion to approve terms of the engagement of audit. of the
Village of Plainfield for the year ending June 30, 1979. Seconded by D. Rife,
Vote by roll call: Ansley, aye; D'Arcy, aye; Rife, aye; Robinson, aye; Yates,
aye, Five ayes, no nays. Motion declared carrl.ed.
J. D'Arcy made a motion to table action on Case No, 77-62679FP, Lakeside
Manor Subdivision Final Plat,, until .nekt Board meeting to determine if action
has been taken on basic problems.. Seconded by D, .Rif e. Motion declared
carried.
D. Rife made a motion to apprave recammendation of Plan Comm issian pertaining
to Case No. 78-62679 FP to approve final plat of Flagg Resubdivl:sion located
at 317 Union Street. Seconded by J. D'Arcy. Vote by roll call: Ansley, aye;

S. Yates made a motion to approve recommendation of Plan Commission pertaining
to Case No. 79-62679FP to approve final plat of Anderson parcel, Lot 8, Block 6,
Marybrook II Subdivision, to subdivide one lot into two lots permitting
construction of a single fam ily residence on each lot. Seconded by L. Robinson.
Vote by roll call: Ansley, aye; D'Arcy, aye; Rif e, nay: Robinson, aye; Yates,
aye.. Four ayes, one nay. Motion declared carried.
D. Rife made a motion to approve recommendation of Zoning Board of Appeals
pertaining to Case No. 76-62679V to pass an Ordinance amending the Zoning Code
to allow construction pf a single family residence on irregular shaped lot
at 132 Joliet Road. Seconded by S. Yates.. Vote by roll call: Ansley, aye;
D'Arcy, aye; Rif e, aye; Robinson, aye; Yates, aye. Five ayes, no nays. Motion
declared carried.
G. Ansley made a motion to pass Resolution No. 789, a Resolution to levy an
additional tax for equipping, maintenance, repair and alteration of Village of
Plainfield, Free Public Library building and equipment. Seconded by J. D'Arcy.
Vote by roll call: Ansley; aye; D'Arcy, aye; Rif e, aye; Robinson, aye; Yates,
aye. Five ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried..
J. D'Arcy made a oration to have Village Clerk send a letter to James Ball
giving him 30 days to comply with punch list 'of May 10, 1979 relative to
Pheasant Chase Subdivision. Seconded by D. Rife.. Motion declared carried.
On motion meeting adjourned at 9:23 p.m. to an Executive Session to discuss
personnel.
